My wife and I visited Taboo Tattoo on Valentine’s Day to cover up a small tattoo on her hand. She wanted a colorful feather that would flow with her hand. We were referred to KNDL who seemed competent enough to handle our request. After leaving that day my wife turned to me with dissatisfaction and concern that there wasn’t enough color and the color palette wasn’t what she requested. I called back to voice our concern and the front desk guy suggested that we wait a few weeks for it to heal. Needless to say that we had to drive another hour to get there to fix what wasn’t done properly in the first place. This time more color was added but KNDL obviously went to deep causing an area of the tattoo to scab so bad that the color didn’t hold. To top it off we had to pay additional money to correct what should have been right the first time. Again, we waited another 3 weeks for it to heal fully. I called ahead of time to let them know we were coming and to make sure KNDL was there. We drove another hour in traffic to get there and find them smoking out in the front. There was little or no concern and we were informed to come back in a few days because it wasn’t ready to be worked on a 3rd time. There was no priority or sense of urgency since this was clearly an issue that they were going to have to correct. We voiced our frustrations with no regard from the staff. This is a very unprofessional shop with a lack of knowledge and talent. We decided to locate another shop while we were in the area to get a 2nd opinion. We found Artistic Encounter and Dominque Ransom. She was confident from the beginning and didn’t hesitate to start right away fixing and color correcting the previous work done at Taboo Tattoo. Dominque was amazingly efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. We would both highly recommend Artistic Encounter to anyone looking for a top notch shop with top notch artists that can tackle any...

In late May, my hubby and I were in Dallas for a little 20th wedding anniversary weekend getaway and decided to get tattoos. I had never gotten one before and had finally found something that I really wanted. We were in Deep Ellum for the day and knew about Taboo Tattoo and thought we would drop in and see what they could do.

They were brilliant, they took us in right away and we were both able to get our tattoos in full that day. I would say that if you decide to do this be prepared they work on a cash basis only which was understandable on our part. They have an ATM there which for some can be a bit expensive to use, so I would plan if you just drop in. They were really cool and worked with us since we were getting two tattoos.

I had been planning and checked with other tattoo locations about price/timing and the price provided was comparable and very reasonable for the work done.

My artist, Nick was amazing. I was a bit nervous and I am very self conscious and he made me feel like an old friend. He made suggestions with placement and colour which has worked perfectly. Everyone who I have shown the tattoo to has thought it looked brilliant.

The shop was very clean and they were really good about giving a lot of after care advise which both my hubby and I stuck to and had no issues whatsoever with our tattoos healing up.

The experience was so accepting and comfortable that I have just finished healing and I am already planning my next and would totally hit up Taboo Tattoo and see if Nick could do...

Carlos did my first tattoo in March of 2014. I originally went to Taboo because he is the father of a good friend of mine. After my experience there, I refuse to get tattooed at another shop! Shortly before that, in January of 2014, I went with the friend to get piercings after class. Tiffany pierced both of us and was so cool and laid back the whole time. She joked with us and we were all laughing and having a good time. I got two helix piercings and a tragus while my friend got both tragus done. I had, at the time, only one helix piercing and no tattoos. She was marking the spot for the piercings and noticed that my first helix was technically positioned wrong and then asked if I wanted her to match the new piercing or have her pierce the new one correctly. I loved that she gave me the option and told me! I feel like other places would've just pierced it and called it a day. I've also been pierced and tattooed by Tim. He is hilarious!! Piercings are quick and, in my opinion, completely painless! And he makes you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in the door. I've taken a few other friends there and they love it as well. I definitely recommend...

My husband and I got tattoos to celebrate my Birthday. We walked by several other tattoo shops in the area but when we walked by Taboo Tattoo, we were automatically drawn to the shop. The exterior was inviting but not to be out done by the interior. The shop was spacious and inviting. The wall art was beautiful! I knew this is where we should get my tattoos. The guy at the front had impeccable customer service. He answered all our questions and gave advice as needed. Cody Biggs, the owner did my tattoo and I could not have been more impressed! The way he took my idea and turned it in to something that totally exceeded my expectations, that is true art. Bryan Adam did my husband’s tattoo and again, totally exceeded my expectations! We will definitely be going back for our next tattoo and will refer the shop to all our friends and family. Our tattoos aren’t even fully healed and we are so in love with the look! Thank you Cody and to the entire Taboo Tattoo shop, it’s like we’re part of your family now 🙏🏼

My friend and I had went on a Sunday right at open and as soon as we had walked in it was a great atmosphere and very clean. The front desk employee was very helpful and came to help us immediately. We were able to get in a schedule and was able to get some work done that day. My artist was Cody Biggs and he was super professional and made sure I was comfortable the whole time I was getting work done. The work he had done was fantastic and I was so pleased with the work I had done. The vibes in the shop were great and I had such a fun time while I was there. He is a very talented artist and same with everyone in the shop. I highly recommend this place and every artist is great to go to. I will definitely be back to get some more work done in the future.
