Wish I could give 0 stars. This was the worst experience ever. I’ve heard about Benihana but don’t get the hype, what am I missing?Overpriced bland food, terrible service, no parking (walk across the street or valley). I took my daughters for a birthday day dinner, both had a $40 birthday certificate but was told it could only be used Monday-Thursday, btw, thanks for bringing out the magnifying glass to show us the fine print. I don’t mind paying for good food, but $160 for half cooked noodles with store bought sauce is unacceptable. I would much rather eat Panda Express (no offense). The chef lite up the onion and must have turned off the grill, he mixed sauce and a few veggies then put it on a plate, some of my noodles were still white. I tried to force myself to eat the $36 yakisoba, but the sauce taste like sweet hoisin sauce and honey, hard to explain but terrible. I’ve had real authentic yakisoba before, and this was not eat, the frozen fake stuff at Costco was better.
In addition, the over priced noodle dish was supposed to be a 5 course meal, I received soup(basically chicken broth with onions), salad(hand full of packaged stuff in grocery store), main dish, a few cut pieces of zucchini/onions on the side(I guess that counts)? But never received my hot green tee, after asking twice.
I will never eat here again, I could take my daughters back, Mon-Thurs, and actually use the coupon, but at this point I’m not interested. My daughter brought her noodles home and actually recooked them on the stove while adding flavor, much better. Let me know if you guys need a new head chef.
This place needs to lower their prices or redo the recipes, also, as others have stated, the Dallas location is old and dirty. I wish I would have taken more pics, I was just in shock from the level of disappointment.
*Forgot to add, I have a shrimp allergy and was unable to eat half of my food after the chef put shrimp on the plate, without asking. He was cooking shrimp for others at the table and I guess he thought he was doing me a favor, IDK, but the reason the shrimp was cooked last was because of the allergy so why wouldn’t you ask if I...
Read moreNegative stars if I could, because this Benihana is a full-blown scam. I’m attaching the receipt so you can witness the sheer audacity of their overcharging. Nearly $200 down the drain for the most overpriced dining experience imaginable. Let's begin, it's 330pm during "happy hour" on a Friday. Besides the restaurant being virtually empty, the hiabachi chef was a total ghost—no show, no fun, just a blank stare and zero effort. The entertainment score F. People go to hibachi with their kids to enjoy the experience and have fun.
The server? Completely inattentive, mixing up orders, forgetting to bring items, and nickel-and-diming us for everything imaginable.
Their definition of hibachi vegetables is burnt onions , mushrooms and a slice of zucchini. Nothing else .There were officially 21 pieces of edamame for the $10 appetizer (I had to peel them for my toddler so I know the count ) Meanwhile, we were being nickel-and-dimed for everything—$9 for a lukewarm beer, 6$ PER PLATE EXTRA , for the most half effort fried rice you've ever seen . 2$ PER PLATE EXTRA for teriyaki sauce?? That's 24$ for something that should have been included in the meal already at a $37 base avg .This place isn’t just bad, it’s a blatant rip-off. We got zero value, zero service, and zero entertainment.
Here’s a kicker: I ordered a sake flight. Instead, they brought me Asahi beer and charged me $15 for it. Only at the very end of the meal—after I asked multiple times—did they finally bring out the actual sake flight I originally ordered. Benihana, let's start by having a clean bathroom so that when I take my little girl to the bathroom, who is a toddler mind you; she doesn't walk into the stall with a massive feces set left in the toilet.
You would be better off going to a fine dining steakhouse. Enjoying a full course meal with a bottle of wine and still coming out less expensive.
Save yourself the headache and your money. This place is a TOTAL NO-GO. They need a reality check on his to not rip off their customers.
Consider this your warning: this Benihana is a complete disaster and a scam from...
Read moreI am gluten free and this place was right across out hotel. Online said it had gluten free options and my friends hadn't been so we took a walk to it. It was worth it! They do have a separate gluten free menu and do practices. The uniforms are nice and the staff are very professional and friendly. It's almost like they love their job here. You get the option of sitting upfront where you can watch the food being made or just sit down and wait like normal. The gluten free menu doesn't have prices. They also have a regular menu, a sushi/sashimi menu, and a drink menu. I ordered the sushi sampler. Raw fish on rice, no nori. I also order a old fashioned cause I love my whisky. I also got hibachi steak with fried rice. Bonus, they have gluten free soy sauce! And they actually did a medium rare steak! It comes out already cut up in bite size pieces. My friends got lobster roll, and chili crab roll and finnally hibachi chicken. I also was able to get miso soup that was gluten free! Had tofu and seaweed with green onions. Loved it! All of us loved the meal. When we asked for the check they were asking if we wanted desert. We declined cause we are already paying so much. But the waitress said "I got you" and gave us ice cream on the house. The only problem I had... they forgot the green tea. It comes with the meal. Also the staff will not let you go thirsty. They check frequently to make sure you are topped off. No additional charge unless you order a different drink. Our bill came out for 3 people about 180. Gratuity recommended was 25% and up. You will have to do your own math for smaller tips.
So the food is great! The staff is great! Asking for your drink Togo doesn't cost extra. They got 4 stars for service cause they forgot the green tea twice when requested sadly. But it is pricy! This had to go on the credit card. I recommend this place highly for someone who has money, like western Japanese dining and enjoys a good dining in...
