I discovered this charming bar through a Facebook Reels feature (Dallas Lovelist) showcasing the Top 10 unique spots in DFW. This delightful vintage train car experience made for a memorable date night, despite the challenge of locating it! We circled the block a few times due to the tiny entrance, which lacked any signage. Fortunately, we spotted a small Boxcar sign in the back alley for parking. The lot was full, so we opted to park in the free, well-lit Ozona lot on Greenville. The Boxcar entrance is adjacent to a Vape/Cigar shop in a strip mall. Once inside, we quickly found a table for two, and our server promptly greeted us. She was attentive throughout the evening, and our drinks arrived shortly after we ordered. We started with two bourbon cocktails, Broken Quartz and X Roads, both delicious and beautifully presented. For our main dishes, we tried the French Dip and Meatballs, both of which were tasty. The meatballs had the perfect spicy kick. We rounded off our meal with martinis, which were equally impressive. Our tab for two was $109, which we thought was fair, especially given the refreshingly unique experience. If you're an adventurer this is a must-visit! For our next Boxcar outing, we plan on doing drinks and appetizers before enjoying a nice dinner nearby. If you're seeking something different for happy hour, this spot is worth checking out!

Step off Greenville Avenue and into another world at Boxcar! This hidden gem transports you to the golden age of train travel with its plush velvet seating, dim lighting, and mesmerizing 'windows' that display scenic countryside views. But the real magic happens at the bar. Allen (Scotty) Scott and Carlos Angel, the expert mixologists and partners behind Boxcar, have crafted an exceptional cocktail menu using house-made syrups and infusions. Their passion for their craft shines through in every drink, like the unforgettable bourbon cocktail with orange/honey/milk syrup – smoky, subtly sweet, and unlike anything I've ever tasted. The small bites perfectly complement the drinks, making Boxcar the ideal spot for a sophisticated and memorable evening. If you're searching for a truly unique cocktail experience in Dallas, look no further. All aboard!!!

We so enjoyed a birthday celebration here last night. The ambiance and spot is so unique and fun. We made it our dinner spot too. The drinks were yummy; many I want to order in the future too. The food was good; got the cheese/ meat plate and the tater tots. A little heavy for our food choices for just two people. But it was delicious. My only recommendation for the menu: I’d love a light side salad; and a creme brulee/ chocolate custard type of dessert to choose from. Just my thoughts. Can’t wait to come back there!!

Great experience! They don’t answer their phone or have a website so it is an adventure just seeing if there are in business. No sign on door but an elegant entrance. The interior was fabulous as was the food and drinks. Only criticism they need to change the music. Loud banger music didn’t match anyone in there. And it changed during our time. Been in one of those upscale train bars and cool piano music is what you need to complete the experience. Can’t wait to back with other friends. Nothing was more than $16 food or drinks topped so not expensive for such a great experience. Hope it doesn’t...
