This was my second visit to the newly opened Cane Rosso in Lake Highlands (Dallas), TX. I've visited other Cane Rosso locations too many times to count, but this was the worst experience I've had.
The Good: Drinks: good Focaccia bread: good Chicken: good
The Bad: I asked for chicken parm and received a chicken parm sandwich instead. I thought maybe I misspoke, but I only had an hour for lunch and didn't have time to send it back and wait for a remake. So, I ate it. The chicken was fine, but it was wrapped in focaccia bread, which I'd already had as an appetizer. I was expecting classic chicken parm with spaghetti. The waitress kindly mentioned I should have specified spaghetti, but I never used the word "sandwich," so I don't think it was my fault, though I understand her mistake.
My kid got spaghetti with marinara, and for the first time, they didn't eat it. They said it tasted bad, so I gladly took it since thatās what I wanted with my chicken parm. The spaghetti was awful ā cold and very chewy. I don't know how you mess that up.
The waitress didn't check on us until it was too late. Yes, I had started eating the sandwich but didn't make it halfway through because it wasn't great or what I ordered. When she asked how everything was, I politely told her this was the worst experience we've had and explained the issues. I asked for the bill and requested no one come to talk to me. Some days I'm just not up to complain or negotiate; I just wanted to leave.
She respected my request and didn't send anyone over. I paid the bill and left a table of wasted, not-so-good food. On my way out, there was a cook and a waitress vaping by my car. Thatās a gross scene right next to the kitchen door and parking spaces. Next time, hide that ā it's gross.
The time was 12:10 PM on a Monday afternoon, and the restaurant was almost empty.
I won't be returning, and I am only posting this for them to do better. I want this place to survive. It's a great addition to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI normally like this place and hopefully this was just an off day......but..... First of all, I waited to be seated for a really, really long time while the ONE person I could see was rolling silverware in the bar area. When she FINALLY came over, she said she would be right back. She then proceeded to take orders for a table of three. Mind you, I'm a party of one and I've already been waiting a while. It wouldn't have taken that long to seat me. When she finished taking their orders, she led me to the bar area, where not another soul was seated, and said that the bartender would be taking care of me. As I sat there all alone in the bar area, the bartender kept on doing what he was doing and never even acknowledge my presence. I could see that this was definitely not going to work, so I got up and left, still without any acknowledgement from ANYONE in the place regarding my exit!! Seems like some training might be needed regarding making customers feel welcomed!! I'll probably give them another chance, but if this happens again, they're going to be off the list!!
EDIT: Well, today my visit to Cane Rosso LH was a night-to-day difference!! I was greeted and seated immediately. My server, Emma Kate, was warm, friendly, and patient as I tried to decide what to order. Her service was on point with my drink coming quickly. Haley, the manager, besides serving my entree, even came over a 2nd time to make sure everything was good. THIS is the Cane Rosso that I know and love!! They must have had a really off day on my previous visit, but Haley assured me that will not happen again. 5...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy family and I recently dined at Cane Rosso in Lake Highlands, TX, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience, largely thanks to our outstanding waitress, Kristen! From the moment we arrived, Kristen's exceptional service stood out. She struck the perfect balance of attentiveness. She was always there when we needed her, but never intrusive. Her genuine warmth and friendliness made us feel right at home, and her suggestions were spot-on. To start, we enjoyed the cheesy garlic bread, which was great. We then shared a margherita pizza that was probably one of the best pizzas we have ever had. What truly set Kristen apart was how she interacted with other tables. It was clear that she brings the same level of exceptional service and personal touch to everyone she serves. Her ability to remember details and engage with guests made a noticeable difference in the atmosphere of the restaurant. We are already looking forward to our next visit and will certainly be requesting Kristen as our waitress. Cane Rosso is lucky to have such a remarkable team member. Thank you, Kristen, for making our...
