I hate it when I forget to finish a review before I leave. I was so upset I quickly did the bare minimum before just to have placeholder. Let me try and remember this and share more details.
This was my first time visiting and I loved the vibe of the place right out the gate. The decor, lay out and overall atmosphere checked all my coffee shop happy boxes and I felt good walking in, like “yeah, this is the spot. Let’s go”
It was fairly full. It had a good amount of folks, laptops out most punching keys with different forms of headphones on. Some business interview meetings or work meetings dispersed through out.
Everyone enjoying the beautiful sunny day with various beverages and foods between them. I love how the front wall of windows allows the natural sun light to flood the space.
I walked to the register to start looking over the menus when I was greeted by a wonderful human being (insert her forgotten name here)😭. I explained it was my first time asked what should I try. I had been eyeing the menus. I had a short list and when (she who cannot be named) mentioned what she had for breakfast today, it was an immediate affirmation of where my heart was already leaning towards: The Avacado Swiss and sriracha mayo sandwich, add the turkey.
Yup.
The toasted bun was nice and crunchy from being toasted and that avocado and cheese with the turkey… 🤤
I took my pour over coffee (#3 dub harp bowl?), learned where the 1/2&1/2 was, then proceeded plop my earbuds in to join the other key punchers for the next 90 minutes jamming out. A lot of plugs and WiFi for 3 hours was perfect set up.
That was one of the best coffees I’ve had in a really long while. The blueberry taste was a fantastic addition and I was honestly surprised I liked it as much as I did. Blueberry isn’t usually my thing.
The sandwich was 😘🤌
So good I ordered another Togo to take for my wife. While that was cooking I had a lovely pint of the #24? 23?? 🤔🤷😮💨
Its been a long 24 hours and this is why I try to do my reviews right away. 🤣
Anyways, it was really tasty and another solid suggestion for desert before I left! I judge a lot of places by what their staff recommends when asked. If you can’t tell your customs what you like to eat at your own place of work, then I question if you eat there at all? Don’t you like to eat your own food?
Then I’m like, “Is it because it’s nasty in the kitchen or just bad food? Do they know something I don’t? Is it both?!?”
None of these things however popped up and everyone had the kind of genuine friendly custom service that builds relationships and return business, which I really appreciate in whatever establishment I find myself in.
All three of the staff were extremely friendly and very pleasant to spend the morning with. I feel horrible only remembering JoJo’s name who helped with my to-go(go). I did honestly find it amusing when I realized why my 45 year old brain remembered her name when I really thought about it. I blame the power puff girls.
The whole experienced just elevated my already awesome start to the day and made me happier. Thank you!
I wish i worked closer. I look forward to the guilty pleasure of those rare times where availability and proximity align, allowing to stop for future visits.
Ps. I wish the Freda picture was local art for sale. I legit looked for a for sale sign on the wall. My wife would have loved it, it would go so well in our living room!
Now the hunt begins!
I’ll update my review with proper names to give credit where credit is due. My shamefully poor memory is no excuse for not leaving a more detailed review I felt however.
This is going to bug me all week until we come back out. Was it...
Read morePlace is excellent and the layout is spacious but doesn't particularly feel empty as when I've visited, there were a fair amount of people either quietly conversing or studying. So if you want to study with a beer, I highly suggest this place as the beer selection is top notch (I mean, anything less from the creators of Big Texas Beer Fest would be a disappointment, and I assure you I wasn't). Food selection isn't as expansive as other places, but the two times I've been fortunate to patronize during normal food hours, I feel they've put more effort into the selection they have and my taste buds haven't minded at all.
What I've ordered: Coffee - The Warlock, is excellent and has actually prevented me from exploring the coffee board more.
Sandwich - Cuban - I feel this is more inspired by the stereotypical Cuban sandwich, but if the purists can put their pitchforks away, it's the best item (and deservedly so) on their food menu, and my only disappointment is that I am rarely there after 11 am, so I don't get to order it or other sandwiches often.
In a nutshell, I highly suggest this place for a chill vibe where you can hold a conversation, study, or even just relax and read without having to go to a more rowdy joint to enjoy an excellent beer...or coffee. Your choice, and that's the...

The Food - 5 Stars: I would give more stars, if I could. That Cuban is hands down the best panini I have ever had. I don't know if it is the famous Pecan Lodge pulled pork or the stone ground mustard, but this is the perfect combination. We also tried the Pesto panini and it did not disappoint. Looking forward to trying the Stallone in our next visit.
The Service - 5 Stars: Chase was perfect, providing recommendations and suggestions to help us out for our first visit.
The Price - 4 Stars: ~$60 before tip. The price is reasonable considering the portion of this panini was huge! We could have easily split just one panini and have been full.
The Vibes - 5 Stars: Deceptively large and spacious location. I read there is even opportunity to rent out the entire place for events. How awesome! Huge mural on the wall that is artistic and gives off a ruckus coffee bar vibe. I dug it! The surrounding location looks a lot different from the Red, Hot, & Blue + Dave and Buster days when I worked across the street. What a turnaround in just a few years.
Overall, an easy 5 stars. We...
