May 25 Update - They've definitely improved substantially in the last two years. The dining room has been built out with a new bar area, and it looks more complete overall. Food is still excellent, and the service was solid. I still wouldn't put it up against the best places in town, but it's probably the best option in the area.

Jun 23 Update - Service has definitely improved here since our last visit, but it’s still not up to the standard I expect given the price. The sushi is of a pretty high quality, but not on par with top tier competitors at the same price point. If you are looking for a “hole-in-the-wall” experience and don’t mind the high prices, this may be a good choice. Otherwise, I think there are plenty of options that deliver the whole package at the same cost.

Feb 23 - Quaint little sushi and hand roll reincarnation from a similar failed concept. The hand rolls are decent and fairly priced, although probably the least good of the other spots in town. The nigiri was a 3/5, but the pricing was out of this world. There are certainly much better options at the price point. Service was the big let down here. They are trying, but obviously inexperienced and understaffed. Even the basics were missed—getting plates and utensils on the table, serving water, taking drink orders. There were many long absences, requiring that I get up to track someone down. There’s a lot to work on, and I wouldn’t return until it’s...

Wow…really exceptional! Been enjoying Hatsayuki in Fort Worth (similar concept) as my favorite sushi/hand roll spot with great fresh fish. But now there’s Kome in Dallas! Beautifully designed space, simple but great details. Our server was great as weee the sushi chefs. Sat at the bar that centered around the chefs. Can’t say enough great things about the quality of fish/food. Can add up fast with all the a la carte options but you can also get by with an affordable meal if you stick to the hand rolls. They also have some specials of the day for various fish for nigiri or sashimi. Decently quiet but it was lunch time on a Thursday right after they opened. They’ve been open for 6 months (Dec 2022) but I can’t imagine they’ll be slow for long once word gets out. It can be a little hidden, as you can’t see the restaurant from the parking lot, but it’s pretty easy to find, just walk the pathway in btwn snooze and the climbing gym and it’ll be wrapped around to the right in the middle adjacent to a really pretty little park area. Got a kanpachi sashimi special, hand rolls (all excellent but crab and yellowtail were my favs), salmon belly (amazing! And maybe better than the popular version at Hatsayuki), also enjoyed a couple of specials including ami madai (?) and the shrimp. Miso soup was great too. All amazing....

We just got from spending over a week in Tokyo, and this place definitely reminded us of the Tokyo vibe. Shout out to James, our chef. He was super patient with me while I took the videos. The vibe was fun and relaxing. I would definitely come back. It's a great date venue. Portions are small, and the sake and desserts are delicious.

We ordered quite a bit. What you see in the pictures is half of a regular portion except for the special plate. They are not full-size rolls. Each handroll equals 2 pieces of sushi.

Crab - it was okay. I didn't think it was good or bad. Shrimp tempura - this was yummy. Definitely top 5 shrimp tempura I've had. Salmon - very good. Reminds me of tesaku's salmon. I definitely recommend getting this outside of the sample. Yellow tail (daily) - it was okay. Tuna - this was good, but I like the salmon better between the two. Base scallop - I hated the scallop in Tokyo but wasn't bothered by this. Again, this was okay. Lobster - this was good but not in my top three. Yellowtail asian pear (special) this was worth it. At $19, this was exquisite. You get a lot of sashimi and the sauce pair with it perfectly!

We also ordered 2 Hana flavored sakes (lychee and white peach). Both were sweet and delicious.

We then finished up with the ube ice cream. It...
