Houndstooth Coffee — Restaurant in Dallas

This is probably the best place to get coffee in Dallas. The best customer service in all of Texas hands down for sure no competition!

Been going here occasionally for years (if you like chai I highly recommend this place and also peaberry coffee in oak cliff both different flavors but equally wonderful) and the customer service is definitely what keeps me coming back! I’ve been told the hot chocolate here is the best around so I’ll have to try that some time! Their blueberry iced tea is so refreshing in this Texas heat and their hot jasmine green tea is also good!

There’s not a single bad barista here at all! I don’t know all their names unfortunately because I would definitely name them all individually as they’ve all provided me with great service and a friendly smile each time!

There’s 4 baristas here that really stand out but I only know the names of 3. The ones whose names I do know and remember are Natalie (the best barista around!!), Bronco (also the best barista around!), and Lewis (Luis? Louis? I’m sorry for butchering the spelling but obviously the best barista around also!). Also this one tall brunette (blonde?) absolutely lovely I’ve talked to her once or twice but I haven’t gotten her name yet she’s so friendly despite my awkward attempts at keeping up conversation and she makes delicious drinks (all the baristas at this location do)! I saw that she had a bad review on here which is crazy because she’s the sweetest person! She’s been nothing but kind and patient with my drink order and provides me with outstanding customer service and as I’ve said before she makes a fantastic chai. That was probably one of those times where the customer wasn’t right.

Every time I go to this houndstooth I’m greeted with the warmest friendliest smile from whichever ever barista is working and it genuinely makes my day. I cannot stress enough how much I love the baristas here really really incredibly the nicest group of people. Nothing but good things about every single employee here. I want to start by saying I walked in to buy a cup of coffee and a pastry. The coffee was very good which is what you expect from a coffee place.

In the many reviews I've left over the years there are little things that start to add up sometimes that bother me.

In this place, the employees didn't really engage the way a lot of other places do. Especially for a place that is not a big chain. I didn't feel particularly welcome. They took my order well enough and asked all the right questions what kind of milk the size of the drink Etc so not bad just not engaged.

I got there late 5:30ish, they were sold out of all the pastries. I hate to mention a place that I try not to go to but, Starbucks has fresh pastries relatively speaking and packaged ones perhaps for this exact situation.

If you only have cash, which in this day and age you shouldn't, don't come here. They only accept cash which means they exclude certain communities enough said.

Lastly no printed receipts. So the only way you can get it is if you give them personal information on top of the credit card information that you are giving them to pay for your product. This can be seen as aggressive marketing or advertising I don't know what the deal is I just forgo the receipt in this case.

Never coming to this place again, they don’t appreciate their customers and talk bad about customers behind their backs thinking they can’t hear. The coffee was also so bad it was undrinkable, it was way too acidic and you could tell it was over pulled. I usually love coming to Houndstooth and usually have a great experience but I came in at 4:50 at this location and apologized for coming in 10 min till close and got the easiest drinks possible. I used the restroom and I guess the lady didn’t think I could hear but complained so much about having to make the drinks to her coworker. They were making fun and talking about how ridiculous it was. I tipped and I wish I hadn’t. Im never coming back here again because I’ll go where my business is actually appreciated.
