As a New Yorker who recently moved to the DFW, this is NOT it. It’s not a deli more so a diner that sells sandwiches. I was feeling nostalgic for a bacon egg and cheese with salt pepper and ketchup( because what New Yorker wouldn’t?). I have been on the hunt for an authentic style deli. I thought this would be it. I walk in, to a diner style restaurant. I was expecting a deli I go up to the counter order the sandwiches and wait to the side. This is not that. But! They did have a bacon egg and cheese and had an egg bagel. So I ordered it with salt pepper ketchup. And I wanted a deli style sandwich so I ordered a ham and Swiss lettuce tomato and Mayo (they sadly didn’t have roasted red peppers) on a wedge, except, they had no wedges, so a roll it was. It came time to pay and my total was 40 dollars, for two BECSPK and a ham and Swiss on a roll, I thought that was ridiculous but paid. I waited to get home, opened up a bacon egg cheese, no ketchup, instead ketchup packets in the bag, the egg was rubbery and salted to hell. So I threw that out. Then I try the sandwich, no Mayo, there was probably a packet in the bag but at that point I didn’t care to look. Big pieces of lettuce, don’t expect shredded lettuce and the ham was disgustingly salted. Threw away 40 dollars. Also the place was disgusting, from old meat stains where their glass was to splatters of who knows what on the walls walking in. There was nothing in there that screamed NY. My expectations were not high, but following instruction would have been nice, for $40. Change the name,...

SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES!! Went here for a breakfast bite with a good friend of mine. The food was actually good (a bit pricey, but good) and the coffee was decent.

I paid for my bill ($40.62) with a credit card and left a suggested 15% tip. The total was $46.71. Few days later, I see that my credit card was charged $72.38.

Luckily for me, I had my receipt and took a picture of it. I called the store and left multiple messages for the manager to call me. My call was never returned, but I was finally able to connect with the manager.

The manager said, "Oh.. that must have been an error our part... we are happy to refund you the difference, but you have to come down to our location to get your money."

I told the manager I lived 40 minutes away (one way) and that would be a long trip down to get back $30.00 that I was erroneously charged by them.

I asked the manager to issue a full refund given that they wouldn't credit my card over the phone and I would have to spend over an hour of my day, gas, and tolls, to get there and correct their mistake.

The non-receptive manager refused and said I could take it or leave it.

These people only seem to care about money... this hardly seems like an accident, and they did not do the ethical (or legal) requirement of returning a fraudulent charge.

I would NOT patronize this business simply because of the way they...

My husband and I recently visited Deli News for the first time, drawn in by its reputation and the promise of a classic deli experience. The place itself is undeniably charming, bustling with activity, and the waitstaff is attentive and friendly—a definite highlight of our visit.

I opted for the Soup and Sandwich combo, choosing a pastrami sandwich and a cup of chicken soup. The sandwich was warm and flavorful, but it was surprisingly bare—just bread and pastrami, with no condiments or extras to enhance it. The chicken soup, which they boldly claim to be the best, was unfortunately a letdown. Served at room temperature, it lacked flavor entirely, not even a hint of salt or pepper to save it.

My husband went for the hamburger, which looked promising at first glance. However, the taste didn’t match its appearance. The patty resembled a frozen one, and the flavor was disappointingly mediocre.

One oddity we noticed: every table seemed to have a small plate of pickles except ours. Perhaps it’s something you need to request, but it left us feeling a bit overlooked.

While the ambiance and service were lovely, the food quality and steep prices left us underwhelmed. Perhaps we didn’t order the right items, but our first impression of Deli News doesn’t inspire a return visit. For the cost, we had hoped for more...
