Update: made an order for pickup and asked for spicy powder and spicy sauce on the side when i arrived. It's usually given to me in a small sauce container when I dine in, here or at any ethiopian restaurant. They're charging $2 per spice now. For a tiny sauce container.

I've put up with the poor customer service in the past for the food, but I won't be coming back now. I love ethiopian food, and the food here is great but service is painfully bad. The waitress is extremely slow and disorganized. Took 15 minutes to bring out my drinks; even then I had to go up to the counter to grab it myself along with additional plates as requested because she disappeared once again before bringing anything over.

There were 3 tables in the entire restaurant, three. On a separate dining experience here we were the only ones and she was behind the bar sitting the entire time, we had to wave her down on many occasions. Not acceptable.

I'm in the service industry and always leave over 20%......but I just can't do that here. I really hope they get their customer service together as the food really is good, but I think ill just go to queen of Sheeba...

I had really high hopes for this establishment but unfortunately it’s another “overpriced restaurant/lounge fusion” concept. I went on Sunday for brunch, and arrived about 20mins after the opening time. The staff was not ready to receive guests as tvs/sound was not on.

One of the bartenders and the manager had a verbal altercation next to me while debating on the correct time to serve alcohol on Sundays.

The menu for the brunch mains is overly saturated with the “n-grits” options. I decided to order one of those options (salmon and grits) but I feel like the heavy cream to make the sauce was expired as it had a slight pungent taste. I also ordered the boudin eggrolls but they were delicious.

I spent $70 for a single mimosa, salmon and grits, and egg rolls. They charge gratuity to every check (I was by myself) PLUS an additional service fee if you are using a card and not cash.

Sighhh, overall it’s not worth it. My experience at this black owned establishment wasn’t anything to brag about or experience twice. They definitely have work to do. Extremely overpriced when luxury and upscale were not the true experience you...

Terrible delivery They used Door dash. I ordered my food around 4pm. Was told it would arrive about 25 minutes which turned into 46mins. The Door dash guy reported he delivered, with the audacity of providing a nonworking phone number. Contacted door dash. They said the guy showed up but didnt wait to deliver the food? What? Anyway. They said they would reprocess the order. Fine. Sent another door dasher, this time a 45min wsit turned into an hour wait. Whatever. Then around 6:40pm (mind you, I ordered around 4pm), I get a text and email stating that the order was cancelled because the 'store' is closed. Total BS because the place closes at 10pm. Apparently the door dasher reported the place was closed. You might wonder why I am not taking this issue up with DoorDash, I have, but this Shabelle place should be diligent enough to keep tabs on deliveries of their food and customer satisfaction. What kind of business are you running over there? Be more accountable or else these delivery services are going to run you into the...

First time trying Ethiopian food in Dallas and was pretty impressed. I've had it before in the San Francisco area, and I would say this was on par or even better! We went for a late lunch on a Sunday, and it wasn't crowded at all. Large, clean space with lots of TVs and somewhat loud music. Waitress was friendly and have some good recommendations. Minor miss as they didn't pass my water test... Cup was empty for awhile before they noticed. That being said, the food was spot on and made up for the water test miss! + Sambusa: excellent! Came out with 2 pieces and had a bomb tangy sauce on the side that really paired well with the crispiness and meaty filling. I could have ordered more of these. + Injera: perfect level of softness and chewiness and sourness! + Shebelle combo plate: came with Doro wot, kitfo, Yebeg alicha, minchet & vegetables. Everything had great flavor but the lamb yebeg alicha was probably my favorite out of all of them. We'll definitely be coming back!
