Absolutely love Freshnez. I have to echo another review I’ve seen here- it is probably the best food truck I have ever had.
I’ve had the pleasure of eating their delicious food twice now at the Truck Yard in Ft Worth. It was so good the first time that I’ve kept my eye out looking for them again every time I drive by the place. When I saw their black truck with the beautiful Freshnez lettering again this week, I knew exactly what I was getting for lunch!
I can highly, HIGHLY recommend this truck. Everything I’ve eaten there has been delicious. My favorites are the jollof rice, the brisket, and the elote. I mean… I could eat it every day- no joke! Super flavorful and not too spicy (luckily you can dial in your heat level as I’m a wimp with spice) Sorry I didn’t take the prettiest of pictures. I was so excited about digging in that I forgot about pictures until after I mixed up my elote.
Not only is the food amazing, but the truck owners are great as well. The gentleman with the dreads is super nice and makes you feel so welcome! If you’re a frequent food truck goer, you’ll probably be familiar with that one truck that has the bomb food but the staff has a terrible attitude, but you go there anyway because the food is worth the abuse lol. Well that’s not the case here. Good vibes all around and a genuinely warm atmosphere with super delicious food. What more could you want? Oh, besides a permanent residence of Freshnez at the Truck Yard every single day? Not...
Read moreI had the pleasure of visiting Freshnez, passionately owned and ran by Stephen, with help from April — and let me just say, this experience left a lasting impression.
From the moment I approached the truck, I could feel the heart and care behind what they do. Stephen’s passion for food is immediately obvious — not just in the way he cooks, but in the way he talks about his dishes. There’s a thoughtful creativity in how he blends bold Nigerian flavors with his own unique twist on traditional Texas comfort food. It’s not just a meal; it’s a story on a plate.
The food was absolutely delicious — rich, vibrant, and deeply satisfying. You can tell this isn’t fast food thrown together to feed the masses. It’s handcrafted, intentional, and made with love. I left the truck not only full but excited — already thinking about my next visit, eager to see what Stephen comes up with next.
April was kind, helpful, and just as passionate about the mission of Freshnez. Together, they create a welcoming experience that feels both fresh and familiar.
If you’re looking for something new, meaningful, and absolutely packed with flavor, Freshnez should be at the top of your list. Support this truck — you’re not just getting amazing food, you’re...
Read moreUpdate: The owner, Steven, personally reached out to apologize and told me they’re working on adding clearer signage to improve the experience. He was incredibly nice, sincere, and genuinely cared about the feedback. I really respect that.
Tried them at the Truck Yard in The Colony. I ordered the brisket fries—honestly, they were just okay. I expected a bit of a wait since it was busy, and that’s totally understandable. The real problem wasn’t how long it took to make the food, but how poorly the pickup process was organized.
After waiting 35 minutes for the text that my order was ready, I then had to wait another 13 minutes in a confusing crowd where people were accidentally cutting in line. There were no signs to separate those ordering from those picking up food, and the staff wasn’t doing anything to manage it.
I calmly suggested to the cashier that signs would help reduce the confusion. His response? "Some people don't understand that this is fast food. It happens." That felt dismissive and unprofessional, especially after I waited patiently and didn’t raise my voice once.
As for the brisket fries, they were good. The brisket was well-seasoned, tender and a...
