On my way to class last Saturday morning I stopped in for my usual iced espresso with a splash of soy. Usually things are okay but this time was different. I was handed my drink with no soy. No problem, I really don't mind asking for a splash of soy after the fact. The problem came when I saw two jugs of milk and a carton of soy on the hand-off plane. I picked up the carton of soy and the barista grabbed it from my hand and said "when you do that, I can't use this to make anyone else's drink," shot me a nasty look and threw away the nearly full container with force. I told her that in my 2.5 years as a barista at Starbucks I don't remember that being a rule. She replied that in the 6 years that she's been there it has and shot me another dirty look. At this point I left since I didn't want to make a scene.
These are the things that I would have liked to recommend.
First - don't put stuff in front of customers they aren't supposed to touch. If you keep having this problem, wouldn't you do something to prevent it? like putting the soy in the cooler underneath the espresso machine when it's not being used?
Second - don't be rude to customers. In my time as a barista at Starbucks I was written up for this very thing. I asked a customer who was yelling for me to hurry up because they were late "why did you stop then?" I deserved it, and it upsets me when others deliver crappy customer service. I'm way nicer to the staff than the dude yelling and getting all bent out of shape, and I tip.
Third - look at the drink and make it right the first time. It's not always going to happen, and at that point own up to it and fix it without acting upset about it. You have one job. Make drinks. I've seen some seriously incompetent people get this right. You can do it too.
Fourth - clean the condiment table. Seriously. That thing is nasty every time I come in.
Fifth - don't even get me started on the bathrooms.
Sixth - keep the pastry case stocked and clean. I wouldn't even touch a pastry from that case with all the funk leftover in the corners.
I know the Starbucks Baristas don't earn a huge wage, but a solid customer service experience is what Starbucks prides themselves on. The person I spoke with, who claims to have been a partner for six years lacks that very quality.
I know I'll be avoiding that location from now on, there are several others on the way. I mean this is Starbucks in Texas we're talking about here. Not like I can just wander on over to a local coffee shop no matter how much I would love to say I'll never again see the inside of...
Read moreDon’t bring your own cup to this Starbucks! It’s not worth it!! This isn’t my regular Starbucks!! I’m so grateful!! I Went through the drive thru and I ordered 2 drinks for my mom and me and a bagel with cream cheese for my son. I brought my own cup beside it’s double sealed and it stays longer than the plastic ones. My app wasn’t working with their scanner when I was at the window. I hear glass break. The barista looks behind her and laughs. She got a manager because it still wasn’t taking my app. After a few minutes it worked. They gave me my moms drink and they made it wrong. So, I tell her that I didn’t want mine like that because I didn’t order either one like that. She turns and looks at me and says it’s already made. I ordered my drinks a certain way and pay for them to be that way! Then, they come to the window with some ugly cups and say they broke my cup. Not just any cup but my favorite cup my daughter bought me!! I told them I didn’t want any of those cups. They give me some ugly cup and still screwed up my drink. My mom was late for her appointment. Which we had to reschedule. She didn’t get her right drink. I didn’t get my right drink or my cup that I paid for. My son didn’t get his bagel either! Starbucks customer service loaded $25 to my app for the inconvenience and the messed up order that I paid for and said the District Manager would get me a new cup. She calls and says she’s gonna get me the cup. A few days later, she calls and can’t find my cup. So she says she would send me a gift card through the mail for the refund of my cup. Never got it!!!! I won’t ever go back to that store! It was a horrible experience and my mom missed a very important meeting because of them!! I spoke to the store manager at my Starbucks and he apologized for the way it all went down and the way I was treated! He actually stated that they were pathetic. I totally agree! Be careful when u bring your cups, it’s not worth the...
Read moreGo here often on breaks in the evening and they are usually never busy, but busy or slow the service is always so slow! They’ll have you waiting at the window forever before they even take your money for your order. They are nice, but super slow. Tonight I went on my break and ordered a caramel Frappuccino and a white chocolate mocha. Went through the drive thru and went to pull off and almost spit my drink out. It was so bitter and disgusting. I backed up and decided to go inside. Walked up to the door which was locked around 7pm. Cashier explained safety reasons which I totally get. This isn’t the best area. Anyway she offers to have the drink remade. The barista started making it then put it in the blender and proceeded to make several other drinks even after the blender stopped. So I’m waiting and my drink is just sitting in the blender waiting as well. She finally handed me the drink and before I walk out I decide to try it. It was again disgusting. Bitter and watery. Don’t think it could have gotten THAT watery from the blender. It sat but not long enough for the ice to melt down to water. I asked to just be refunded, but left my wallet in the car which I went to retrieve. Stepped right outside the door and came right back and the door was locked of course as the cashier just proceeded to look at me for several seconds before coming back to open the door. Got my refund and left. The mocha was too hot at first, but once it cooled down that too was bitter and disgusting. Not sure what’s up with their machine tonight, but I Probably won’t return to this location. My break isn’t that long and although they don’t know what my schedule is they are like I said super slow and not mindful of peoples time. Plus I didn’t even get the coffee I needed so going today was a total...
