PLEASE NOTE FIRST: I see many reviews about the location. It’s YOUR responsibility to review any area before you visit it. The hotel isn’t in walking distance to things, so be prepared for an Uber or rental car. It’s just what it is. But that’s not the hotels fault you didn’t use the same internet to book to look up the area. That’s it that’s all. Do your research. That didn’t take anything away from my trip. WHY? because I PREPARED and planned to take Uber to where I needed to go had I needed to go somewhere. Now on to the amazing qualities. Above and beyond here! Ms. Sheila really looked out for those of us here for the Woman Evolve 2023 Conference! If I could just write a review for how amazing Ms. Sheila and her staff were, We would be here all day. About the hotel: there's free breakfast with real and crispy bacon haha. Not all days but some of the days we were there. Good bacon is key because many places put that fake thin stuff out. Not here. One of the days they put the croissants in the warmer and MY GOD. I ate two of them with Nutella and butter. They have it all from scrambled eggs, omelette, sausage, pancakes, and biscuits with gravy. Plenty of juice, milk, tea, and coffee. Muffins, bread, bagels. Sorry got carried away, I love when breakfast is included. Moving on to the room... my pictures are after I put stuff all over. I should've taken some before. Either way it was nice and clean for us. The full size Dove products are great. Many hotels give a little sample, NOT HERE. I never had to take my lotion or body wash out of my suitcase bc they had a reputable brand provided. Lovely. The housekeeping made a cute rose design out of the tissues but I had to mess it up lol. The full size mirror in the foyer has a ledge to the left to hold your make up while you get ready or your Purse, etc. There are outlets EVERYWHERE. We got to bring up food from breakfast bc there's a fridge and microwave to reheat items. I didn't drink the coffee in room because the coffee in foyer had more options for creamer and etc. You can get coffee all day or Tea. There's a gym with a cold water cooler. There's also a laundry room. There's a mini market next to the front desk to get frozen meals, iced cream, drinks, medicine, etc. there are printers and computers. The pool we discovered too late but it's also there. It's not in a location to walk to cool stores but hey I didn't mind. As long as my stay is comfortable and clean that's all that matters. They do have a shuttle and you can coordinate things with them. Ms. Sheila and her husband really helped us in getting where we needed to go. Very nice people and if I came back to this area, I'd go back here because I know I would be taken care of and treated with kindness. The different employees at the front desk were kind and...
Read moreThis place has major management issues and I'll try and keep this short and simple for everyone.
Thursday morning 10:45: Call received they don't have the double bed hotel room I booked and offered a king room. Since I was unexpectedly traveling alone this trip, it wasn't a big deal.
Thursday afternoon ~3:30pm: Four people in line checking in when I arrived.
Person #1: Had no room for her despite her having a reservation email and the employee was on the phone with management for help. This took 20mins by itself.
Person #2: No real issue.
Person #3: No real issue.
Person #4: Patiently waiting in line for a drink and chips. After waiting at least 20 minutes at this point the employee told him just to take the drink and chips since he had to wait so long. He really didn’t seem to be comfortable with that and still wanted to pay. Once he resigned to the fact and started to walk away the employee made a comment to the rest of us still there that maybe they’ll just fire her over it. I’m assuming this was meant to be a joke (didn’t land) but the guy heard it while walking away and felt guilty at this point and came back just wanting to pay. Very awkward for all present.
My check in: I check in fine with the only issue of it taking almost 30 minutes to do so. I was surprised there was no help from other employees.
Friday evening around 11pm: I let the employee at the desk know that I must check out on Saturday instead of Sunday because a storm in Houston knocked a tree onto my house. The employee was friendly and said the receipt would be ready at checkout.
Major Issue
Saturday morning at 4:00am: I was awakened by someone banging on my hotel room door screaming management. Then they opened the door and were stopped by the extra lock I had secured, but still kept yelling loudly management. I got up and went to the door only to be yelled at by the woman who checked me in on Thursday. She was on the phone again (with management I’m assuming) yelling at me that this room is supposed to be vacant and that I need to leave. I told her to drop the attitude and that I was in fact a guest here and she herself checked me in on Thursday. She just kept going on and on yelling at me. Finally, she just rudely told me that I’ll need to come get new keys in the morning as mine won’t work any longer at that the GM will have to resolve the issues. She then walks away like nothing ever happened. Seriously, WTH? I’m sure none of the other guests appreciated the yelling as well as it went on for 10mins or so.
My suggestion would be go to a different location instead...
Read moreMy sister and I stayed there last month for a concert. The room itself was fine. It was clean and we had no issues. My issue however is with Sheila and her staff. We left on Sunday, March 16th and once we had gotten home I realized I had left my bag. We called the hotel up and they told us they would ship it just two days later on Tuesday the 18th and that they’d call us with a tracking number. We called on Wednesday the 19th after I hadn’t received a tracking number and we were told that the general manager, Sheila hadn’t been in, therefore my bag hadn’t been mailed out yet. The woman we spoke to told us it would be shipped before the week was over. Spoiler alert, it wasn’t. After a week of not receiving a tracking number or my bag we called them on Tuesday the 25th and spoke to Shelia. She let us know that she would be mailing it out to me the next day on Wednesday the 26th and would call us with a tracking number. We called Thursday morning on the 27th for my tracking number and they said Sheila did not mail it out and it was still sitting in her office. We called again Thursday afternoon in hopes to talk to Sheila. Whoever was working the front desk answered and was very rude over the phone. My dad asked who the next higher up was that he could call and they immediately put us on hold and once they came back they said they were going to ship it that day. We called Friday morning to confirm if it had been shipped and they said YES. Here’s the crazy part. We called Monday the 31st to ask for my tracking number and they said Sheila had it in her office but it was locked and that she wouldn’t be in until 5am the next morning. So of course, we call again Tuesday morning just for them to say Sheila isn’t actually there and they can’t access the number. So now Sheila is avoiding talking to us. Having had enough of them not helping, my dad immediately called corporate. The woman we spoke to was very helpful and glad we had Sheila’s name so she couldn’t try to shift the blame onto someone else. After that phone call with corporate, one hour later my dad received a call from the hotel at 10am with my tracking number. After tracking it, we saw they had just created the shipping label at 9:30am that same morning meaning they lied to us. Sheila and her staff LIED to us multiple times about having shipped my bag. I finally received my bag on Wednesday April 2nd. Sheila and her staff were not helpful in the slightest. I had to BEG to get my personal belongings...
