Sometimes satisfaction LIES in simplicity. Or maybe simplicity sometimes provides TRUE satisfaction. Either way…I love many Herbs (wink wink)…but I also really liked Herbs House Coffee & Co. This decent sized cafe is quite tucked away in a side street but after opening the doors you realize that you’ve found a caffeinated oasis. The experience kicked off with a charming staff but the odd thing was….the first 3 items I ordered…they had run out of! Inconvenient? yes…but I also arrived late morning and there were plenty of patrons already sitting in the modern well appointed establishment enjoying what I could only hope to have. I made my way to a seat and waited for a fresh batch brew of Herbs coffee and an omelette which I settled on. The coffee…sheeesh. Freakin amazing! Some of the best I’ve had in a while. Abundant in flavor, strength and enough caffeine to get your toes curled on an early morning. The omelette was plain…but not bad plain…just simple. A thin light folded gathering of eggs topped with some cheese mix. A little salt a bit of pepper and I was satisfied. Sometimes simplicity works. The best part was when I went to pay for my order after the slight inconvenience of being out of some items…I was awarded with complementary coffee. I mean…Damn good make your tongue twerk type complementary coffee! What more can you ask for?! Soo..I’d recommend it. I’d go again. So should you. Get there early. They’re pretty darn popular. FOOD INSTAGRAM: @northtx.gemz •••• šŸ’ WHAT THEY’RE KNOWN FOR: coffee shop near the SMU campus. Parking is not complicated, but it’s a really tight squeeze so be warned if you have a big car. šŸ’ THE VIBE: modern but rustic farmhouse? Super large interior for meetings/studying. šŸ’ PRICE: free using my @101passports for coffee shops! šŸ’ WOULD I COME BACK? Maybe. •••• Overall Rating: 6.5/10 - I was in the area and wanted to check one of the coffee spots off my list from the @101passports (a ā€œpassportā€ that costs about $35 to visit 24 different coffee shops across DFW and get each drink for free- once you break even the original costs). - The matcha was good only because of the strawberry syrup. The barista even said that to me because he said he personally didn’t like their matcha lol. I still got it because I didn’t want coffee this day. The way he made the matcha was pretty unprofessional tho he literally just shook the milk and matcha together with the syrup in the cup he served it in 😭. This isn’t a personal attack to the barista bc he was actually nice and we conversed while he made my drink but the way he made it (which I’m sure is how it’s generally made there and how they are trained) was so tragic to matcha lovers šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø. I still drank it but I basically had strawberry milk. Maybe their coffee is good idk. The matcha was an L tho.

For starter, this is a great place to come and work for the day if you’re working from home and need to get out of the house for whatever reason. I really enjoyed their fall beverages, and croissants. The place also has a lot of chargers and various types of seating for weather you want a couch or a table to sit at and some conference rooms though I didn’t use any of those. Staff was only pretty great and the guy in front of me when I said this was my first time raved about how amazing the place was and he was pretty spot on. So why the 4 stars instead of 5? It boils down to their outdoor patio. It’s nice and cute with a fireplace and chairs. Not a lot of outlets but you sacrifice outlets for the nicety of being outside if inside is a little too cold for you. HOWEVER. It shells like dog poop….like badly. I assume they allow pets outside and don’t always clean it up when customers don’t or something but smell was pretty obvious and pretty bad. Other than that the place was great. Just. Don’t try to enjoy the patio unless you’re immune to smell.

Went into herbs asked the cost of renting a conference room and was told by the initial person that she didn’t know. Then she said $40 per hour so I asked if we could get a multi hour discount to rent a room. The initial person said she didn’t know that she would have to ask the manager. So I asked if we could do half hours she said no. I asked if she could ask the manager. She then said that she didn’t know where the manager was. The manager walked behind her and I asked is that the manager the manager said yes why. I then asked if we could get a discount for multi hour rentals she said no. I then asked if we could rent the rooms by the half hour she said yes. So I asked her if we could get a free (1 free coffee) for the room rental if we rented it for 2 hours. She said no that man in a room she pointed 2 is paying $120. I said but I’m not him and I’m not rich. She said she wasn’t rich either. I rented the room and we went into the room. Pam the manager then walked all the way back to the conference room to tell me off. She then argued saying that I made her employee feel uncomfortable by asking those questions and that I shouldn’t have asked any questions. She then told me that she wouldn’t renew my use of the conference and told me to leave and she would give me a refund. She was very rude and belligerent simply because I asked for 1 free coffee or a multi hour discount. She also said that when I leave to not come back. I’ve rented the conference rooms here before many times and brought a lot of people with me for meetings. I’ve spent a lot of money here but won’t be back. As a matter of fact I’m gonna tell everyone I know about my experience today. How is it confusing to ask someone working the front counter if there is a multi...

I absolutely love Herb's. I've been here several times now and it's the only coffee shop/Cafe that truly caters to the remote and co-working crowd.

It never gets as loud as a Starbucks or other coffee shops because most people are there to work... even at max capacity, any noise is minimal and manageable.

The staff is incredible. Fast, helpful, and really attentive. There's a lot of personalized service, regardless of whether you're a newbie or a regular.

From a work perspective, every table or seating area is set up with outlets and there's room to spread out. There's free wifi. I love the convenience of being able to drop in and work with no charge or package fees in the general seating area, and when I need a private room (multiple choices) I can pay by the hour for a meeting or dedicated space. The outdoor patio is also a great alternative.

The Cafe... great coffee and tea selection. The food selection is limited, but everything is made fresh and really, really good. I only go about once a week, but when I'm there, it's usually for most of the day and I'll end up grabbing something for breakfast and again for lunch... and I spend a lot less than I would at a Starbucks. It's a great option for meetings because you can take care of the space and food together.

There are so many things to love about Herb's, it's now my one and only go-to for...
