Update: After their response, I decided to come back and try lunch there again. As soon as I walked in the hostess informed me that they had run out of ramen. 12-12-18 Ichiro ran out of ramen during their lunch hour (it was right at noon and they open at 11AM). Thank you, I attempted to try you guys again, but fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice, shame on you. If less than one star would be possible, I would do it. This is not the first time I have come during lunch but it will be the last. Today I stopped by for lunch with a colleague. Although they were busy, Sunny, our waitress was quick to seat us. She took our order and brought our drinks. We waited for our meal for about 20-25 minutes (to be expected during busy lunch hours). As I received my meal I noticed that the egg from the Tonkotsu (Hakata Style) ramen was missing and let Sunny know. She said she would bring it right out. I finished my meal and I reminded her that I didn't get my egg and wanted that reflected on the price. She then came back with a quick "well the price is the same with our without the egg. Next time, tell the waiter that you want the egg." I looked at her and said "Wait, next time you want me to tell the waiter to have the cooks make my food as described?" She said yeah and walked away with our checks. When she came back I asked for further clarification and she said "Well what do you want me to do?" I said "What would you normally do when someones order is not done correctly?" She walked away again to get a response from the manager. When she came back with my check she turned to me and said "We made your lunch half off." When I looked at my check she made another mistake and charged me full for the lunch and discounted my colleagues check. I signed and left. Tried to call or get a hold of the manager but unresponsive. Needless to say, I will not be coming again. I would highly recommend retraining...
Read moreI'm loving Ichiro Ramen Shop. This ramen opened awhile ago, but I've only recently have had a chance to start visiting the shop. It's been pretty cool having a good ramen place this close to the office.
It's relativity small with a small parking area. So plan accordingly, arriving a little early or a little after the lunch rush. They have cozy seating with a few window bar seats.
I've only been for lunch, but the service has always been friendly and quick. The place has always been full during my lunch visits, but the service has been remarkably consistent.
They have an excellent menu with a decent variety of items. It's not too large, but you get a lot of different things to choose from the listings. There's a fair number of ramen choices on the main menu, and the Small Plates portion has several excellent options.
Currently, the Steam Buns and the Deep Fried Squid Legs are unbelievable small plate options. I definitely could make a meal of the Steam Buns.
The Steam Buns come with a very savory BBQ Pork Belly and a fantastic sauce. These things are exploding with flavor!
And The Deep Fried Squid Legs are tender, sweet, plus light & crispy. The homemade spicy mayo is an excellent pairing for this dish.
Of the Ramen dishes, the "Tan Tan" is probably my favorite. The spicy broth has multiple levels of flavor. It seems simple with ground pork, green onions, and napa cabbage, yet the flavor keeps building with every bite.
It's an excellent spot for lunch. Just make sure you time your arrival...
Read moreAh, the classic "eh" ramen experience – the kind of meal that leaves you with a shrug and a sense of indifference. You know, it's not bad, but it's not exactly setting your taste buds on a thrilling adventure either.
I walked into this ramen joint with a glimmer of hope, but that hope quickly turned into a collective "meh" at the table. The ambiance was, well, forgettable. It had all the charm of a beige waiting room at a dentist's office. Nothing particularly exciting or inviting to see here.
Now, onto the ramen itself. I ordered the shoyu ramen, thinking it be good. But it was as basic as a white t-shirt in a sea of Hawaiian shirts. The broth was just... broth, nothing to write home about. The noodles? Well, they were noodles, I guess – no more, no less. Even the toppings seemed like they were having an identity crisis, not knowing whether they wanted to be flavorful or just plain ordinary.
The service? Well, it was service. The staff did their job, and that's about all you can say. No warm smiles, no extra attention – just the bare minimum.
And the prices? They were about as forgettable as the meal itself. I didn't feel like I'd just invested in a culinary masterpiece; it was more like I'd paid for a ticket on the Ramen Express to Mediocrity Town.
So, if you're in the mood for a meal that won't offend your taste buds but won't make them do a happy dance either, this place might be your jam. But for those seeking a truly memorable ramen experience, I'd say keep on...
