IHOP — Restaurant in Dallas

I do not recommend this IHOP because the customer service was degrading, rude and just plain mean.

The manager of the store was as rude as I ever had to deal with at a restaurant, especially at an IHOP. The waiter was ok but anytime I asked for anything extra, like ketchup or butter, he would ask me why I needed it, as if I had to explain myself in order for him to do his job.

Not to mention the cook and waiter talked in the kitchen the entire meal so loud we could hear everything. It was distracting and an over all horrible experience.

By the time we were leaving we were the only ones there. We asked for a Togo orange juice, and they said no, they don't give out free drinks, even though the waiter gave us a free OJ already. So I asked for a togo cup, and they argued and refused to give us a cup. They finally admitted that they could give us OJ togo but they were choosing not to. They were so rude and disrespectful.

They said if we came back. Ask to eat they would refuse to serve us. All because of a cup of OJ they didn't want to let us have.

Very disappointing. I would like some kind of compensation for being treated like this. We spent close to $60 to be treated like trash. They could have gone about it in a whole different way but chose to be unprofessional and argumentative. Managers are supposed to hold up the companies policy, set an example for the employees and give great customer service. He had none of those qualities. Was seated, 30 mins later not even a waited to take our drink order , by this we had already asked 3 other waiters what was going on they all said they would get someone , finally manager on shift comes , shes really nice and makes. Up for the weight . They bring us our drinks and forget to bring my coffee I asked the waiter for my drink apologized and went back to get it , Another 10 min go by no drink yet. They finally bring us an appetizer and I asked for my drink once more they apologized and finally brought it out , 15 mins more go by and we get a waiter come to our table explain how she was on break and was sorry it took long while she came to explain this she brought us our tickets , keep in mind we hadn't got our food but we sure as hell did get our tickets. Might I add that there was alot of people there and I know they were really busy but things get frustrating when the white older guy gets seated , brought a drink in less then 1 min and gets his food way before us when he got there like 40 mins after us . He was able to eat , and be done with his food way before we got ours. Makes no sense . But… the service left a lot to be desired. I don't know if our server was having a no good, very bad day or if she is perpetually harboring an attitude and demeanor that sucks the family friendly mood that ihop sets, but she understood my friends orders just fine but EVERYTHING I ordered was heard as either the opposite or just a mother item from what I requested. Then as insult to injury, she asked EVERYONE ELSE at the table if they would specifically want their drinks refilled and neglected to say a word to me. Now I'm the last person to want to call a race card problem but the black older couple behind us were complaining about similar observations of their own before they departed before us.

What ever the case she should not be slamming dishes around hitting the table and storming around the floor of the dining room making a ruckus and a scene while there are customers dining. It's unprofessional and makes your customers uncomfortable and not want to return. Even before the possible race issues. Will not be returning.
