laughing crab - cajun seafood — Restaurant in Dallas

Stopped in for lunch on Cinco de Mayo for the first time because of the reviews. Sadly, our experience was not the same 5 star as others. Husband got a combo bag with crab legs, shrimp, mussels and it comes with potatoes, corn and a boiled egg. You can pick your sauce flavor and heat level. He got garlic butter and hot. There was plenty of garlic to the butter but the spice level was not even a little bit hot but rather none at all. Meh. I got the fried basket with catfish, oysters and fries. My meal was cooked perfectly and was crispy but had no seasonings at all and even hot sauce did not improve it. We had one glass of wine and one beer and our total for bland middle of the road food was $61. Our hostess/server was simply not attentive, personable but rather rude. I'm in the hospitality industry if it matters. For us, this is a "one and done" as these seafood in a bag places are all over...

Food was very decent. Had the weekend special boil which was plenty of food for 2 people. Crab, shrimp, lobster and potatoes were really good. The sausage was very disappointing as it was nothing more than a glorified hot dog. Wanted spicy mustard to help it taste better but all they had was honey mustard??? Honey mustard with a boil?? 🤷‍♀️

Server was nice but unaware of the basics that should naturally come with the boil…ya know…drawn mustard, at least one tool to crack the crab legs (preferably one for each diner) perhaps a knife to cut potatoes into bite size pieces, sliced lemon, red sauce etc. We eventually got those basics but had to ask the manager as our waitress was sitting at a booth engaged with her phone.

Came here to get my mom a birthday dinner for takeout the young lady was a little rude. She has a very heavy accent which I didn’t mind Im hearing impaired so I was having trouble fully understanding her so I asked politely for her to repeat some things and she came off very rude I had to stand there in shock had my daughter with me and didn’t want to read that lady for how uncomfortable her attitude was towards me.
