Jack Ruby's Saloon and Grill — Restaurant in Dallas

Very disappointing experience at this restaurant. My family was visiting from out of town and heard good things about this place. We walked in after spending the morning at the Dallas aquarium. We ordered a burger, wedge salad, hot dog, and chicken sandwich. It took about an hour for all our food to come out and at three separate times. My son’s burger was brought out first (by mistake from another table’s order) and our server ended up saying he could keep it and our food would be out shortly. About 20 minutes later by the time my son was finished my salad arrived. We were still missing my husband and daughter’s food. I went ahead and ate my salad and when I was finishing my lunch the rest of the food arrived. This was about 45 minutes after our order had been placed and the restaurant was not busy by any means. The hot dog had mustard on it which we had told the server to omit when we placed our order. When asked if we could get a new hot dog with just ketchup as originally ordered and keep the fries (our daughter was so hungry at this point) the server seemed annoyed. She brought us a new hot dog within a few minutes…drowning in ketchup, about 3 times the amount that was on the original hot dog, looking sloppy and gross overall. They were clearly annoyed we had requested a new one. This place has a fun overall bar atmosphere and an area for a live band. We stopped by for lunch at Jack Ruby’s on a whim, and honestly I’m so pleasantly surprised! When we walked in, we were told to sit ourselves, and we were helped within the minute we sat down. The service was really great, and they made sure we had everything we needed to be able to enjoy our meals and then some! The beer is ICE COLD and comes out in a frosted gauntlet. The Bacon Mushroom burger and the Texican burger were both so flavorful and juicy. Cooked to absolute perfection. The crinkle cut fries were crispy and soft, everything you want from a crinkle cut. Now, if you are offered the carousel of Dhablo hot sauces, you have to try every single one. There is something so special about these sauces. They have so much flavor than just “hot” and every one has such an interesting depth that really is missing in most hot sauces. You can tell that they are made with love and passion and a deep care for the ingredients. They’re made in house— and it shows! Definitely worth the taste, and I give my best compliments to the Chocolate Habanero Cherry with a runner up award going to the green Mystery Flavor (Pecan Smoked Jalapeno & Pear). They also do live music so that’s always a win. 10/10 recommendation...

I have tried the restaurant before and everything was good and had great customer service when i sat at the bar. Decided to go again but in the evening. Order the same stacked BLT and Also their wedge salad. While sitting at the bar i checked my food and after viewing it, the salad was in a small side side container with only cheese sprinked and tortilla strips. I asked for extra of roasted corn and black beans, but did not receive and only cheese,lettuce and tortilla strips. I asked the bartender about the portion received because i had this before and inquired on all the missing ingredients mentioned on the menu. Roasted corn, black beans, diced avocado with dressing. He was very apologetic and sincere which i knew it wasn't his fault. He went back after i mentioned my observation and told him. Im leaving. Well, he brought me the exact same container with all missing items. Please if there are items missing let the customer know from the kitchen. The bartender didn't know so they must inform him instead charging full menu price. Hopefully management you see this and train kitchen with not sending anything that...
