While visiting friends in Dallas, they recommended we try it out and we all went together (4 adults) on a Sunday night around 8 pm.
Checked in the the host who asked us to wait a moment while a table was being cleaned off and then showed us to a table that wasn't cleaned and reset yet. After they wiped it down we sat down and began browsing the menu when I noticed 4 really obvious fingerprints on one of the wine glasses on the table, almost as if the person had had some type of sauce on their hand which left the residue in the shape of thier fingerprint on the glass.
A server assistant gave us water promptly and told us our server would be over shortly. We ordered the steamed dumplings as an appetizer which were good however not much different from ones anywhere else. Then we ordered our meals; my partner and I sharing 3 things, and our friends ordering things individually. While many people often opt to share everything ordered, we all have different preferences and it was clear we were not sharing except for me and my partner. Everything arrived to the table individually without any grouping. One thing of ours, one of friend A, one of ours, one of friend B, on the friend A, etc. There was also a decent wait in between the individual dishes coming out.
I understand this may have been done to allow space on the table, however because things did not come out in any specific order there was sometimes a long wait between items of my own, while one friend was already finished eating before we had gotten our last dish, even though they were all ordered at the same time. I also acknowledge that the restaurant was decently full, which may have been what was causing the overall delay, however I still would have preferred for the majority of the food to all have come out at once or at least one dish per person at the table so we could start eating together without the food going cold/ warm.
Though our server did stop by the table once to ask how we were it was hard to find her unless she intentionally was at our table, since we were in a corner she would not see us when she was at the other end of her section so at once point I went up to the bar to ask for what I needed.
I had the salmon carpaccio, chopped scallop maki roll, and Ceasar roll. I quite enjoyed the salmon and Ceasar roll but thought the scallop was a bit plain. I enjoyed the food overall and would order for takeout again but would probably...
Read moreI don't know who is writing these reviews because this place has horrible food.
We ordered through their website for delivery to our hotel just a few minutes down the street. We opted for delivery because we are staying in town for a doctor's appointment for my disabled son the next day. Easier to get delivery than to pick up or eat in with a disabled child who is more comfortable lounging in bed.
Anyways, we got two rolls, dumplings, and a chicken noodle dish. Each item was not good or inedible. Sushi was warm and the taste was horrible. And like I said, we were just down the street, the sushi should not have been warm. Noodles were overpowered with curry, so much that it was inedible. And the dumplings were just not great and super greasy. Everything had an overpowering lemon flavor.
I called the restaurant and they said they cannot refund me because it was delivered by DoorDash (even though I ordered straight through the restaurant's website), and I would have to contact DoorDash for a refund. Called Door Dash and they said they would refund me $12... My bill was $85!!!! I feel scammed and robbed. I ordered from this sushi place as a treat for myself. As a mother with a disabled child, I rarely get to treat myself nor can I afford to do so hardly ever. So, I read all of these wonderful reviews and thought, I never get to eat in Dallas so let's get some of my favorite food, sushi. I used to eat sushi a lot when I had more means, so I know what it should be like. This ain't it. Not only was the sushi warm, they sliced the fish so thin, (which is not how you serve sushi) that there is barely any fish on the roll. For $20 a roll, you'd better give me more than rice and crab meat. It was such a disappointment and a huge expense because I had to order food from the hotel lobby to feed my son because i wasnt aboutto feed him any of that.
I am so disappointed that Oishii could not make it right and give me a refund. I didn't even ask for a full refund, just for the rolls because they were not consumable. Just do yourself a favor, save your money, and...
Read moreWent in here to check it out. The food looks AMAZING online, but unfortunately, I did not get to actually try it. Went in approximately 1115 on a Wednesday, so not super busy, but there were quite a few folks here for the day / time (GREAT sign). Was really looking forward to some good sushi. Hostess sat me, and Richard came by straight away. Ordered a water to drink, and he went about his business. Another gentleman brought me my water, and no Richard in sight. About 10 minutes later, he came back out and stopped by the table next to mine to get their drink order, then turned in a snap and headed back to the kitchen. He came back promptly and delivered their drinks (a 4 top) and took their orders. AGAIN, turned his back to me and left. No eye contact, nothing. ONE MORE TIME, came out and brought their appetizers and left. I got up and walked out, telling the hostess to tell Richard that on the 3rd time he totally ignored me (a one top drinking water) that I walked out. She made no apology, but kept on seating a party of 4.
I get it, they are working for tips, and I'm not a big ticket table. HOWEVER, I was down there on business and do entertain my clients on a regular basis. I MAY or may NOT be back here and give them my business as I never got a chance to try them out. Gotta take the small tickets with the big tickets and treat everyone with respect. Sorry folks, may be a great place with lots of awesome reviews, but not a good experience for me.
Updated Tried this place again. Sat at the bar, so service was super quick. Was fun watching the guys making sushi, then trying what they made! Great...
