This place is horrible!!! I can’t believe how I was treated. This is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at a bar in cedar springs. So Saturday night I came over to sue Ellen’s with my business partner to have a drink and we decided to work our way upstairs to the karaoke side. So At the bar we asked the bartender for a shot w/ salt and lime and she gave it to us with no salt or lime!! At the moment I felt she might have forgot. I mean who gives a shot to a customer without salt and lime right? But after I requested my salt and lime she told me w/ an attitude “I don’t have any salt and lime for you”. What!?!? She said I’m currently Out. I’m like This is a bar lol how do you not have salt or lime for your customers? So After another associate of mine appeared shortly after he requested a shot of his own and he got his salt and lime!!! Immediately I felt this lady didn’t liked us!! Like why is she treating us this way? Bc we’re Hispanic? I felt so discriminated on the night of my celebration. We felt targeted like we didn’t belong there. She had no sense of humor no character no charisma nothing! By far the worst bartender I’ve ever encounter in my life!! made us feel like we didn’t belong there. She also said right before we left “why are yall making me work too much”? (Rolling her eyes at us)I felt very under appreciated as a customer. And I will never come to sue...
Read moreSo I’m super nervous ; I honestly usually pay cash here because I’m also a server/ bartender but I went last night on Thursday & had to pay with card because I didn’t intend to buy drinks just really wanted to enjoy the vibes so I didn’t bring much cash; they had karaoke & I wanted to step out of my comfort zone & loosen up a bit so I went to buy a shot of whiskey for $7.75
I marked the tip line out &
I tipped $3 in cash , I check my account On my way back home that evening & notice I was charged the $7.75 but I saw another transaction for $6… $6 isn’t like too bad but where is coming from ? I was thinking maybe it’ll go away the next day & it was just pending but it hasn’t went away …So I happen to look at reviews & i see it’s SUPER common & people have had 50+$ taken from them ! I’m praying they don’t take more money out my account , I will dispute the $6 with my bank but now I see I will need to either keep receipt , take pic of it or just use cash .
The atmosphere is usually pretty cool as it’s a space for queer women. I genuinely enjoyed myself last night but this situation is most definitely Putting a bad taste in my mouth seeing how reoccurring stealing other’s money is & how LONG it’s been going on for . Makes me wonder who’s management & why do they not stress to the bartenders about this because it seems like a lawsuit...
Read moreThis was a clean bar with plenty of different places to sit and hang out. There was a King show the night I went. I didn't enjoy it but the Tuesday night regulars were having a great time. Seems like a pretty cool place to be overall. The problem I had here was that my Patron was watered down and so was the Jack Daniels Honey my partner ordered. To be sure of this we poured oursevles a shot of both when we got home. First, before we could even get the shots to our mouth, we could smell our alcohol. In the bar, we could not. Second, I was able to sip my Patron at the club. I always have to shoot it because it burns my throat too bad. At home I tried to sip and it was too strong to do so. Third, the viscous consistency of JD Honey is fairly thick and it's sticky. The JD Honey at the bar was watery. The drinks were $8 each and that is way too much to pay for watered down alcohol no matter how great the setting is. I doubt I would return unless I pre drink and carry a flask. I never mind paying for drinks and I'm a great tipper but no way am I going to get scammed with watered...
