I've been here numerous times in the past and never had any issues until this past Saturday evening 8/02/25.
My friends and I headed over to the RoundUp around 9 PM to hang out a bit. It was early and not busy at all. The dance floor was completely empty. My friend & I mustered up the courage to get on the dance floor and have some fun. We weren't on the dance floor for even 5 minutes and soon thereafter other couples joined my friend & I on the dance floor. I was thankful for that because it takes a lot of courage to be the first on the dance floor. A few minutes into dancing, a staff member approached my friend & I and asked we get off the dance floor as we were not a couple and not "connected" stating we needed to respect the RoundUps culture. I've never, and I mean ever been asked to get off the dance floor at any bar or club.
Now don't get me wrong, I know bars have theme nights, etc which I totally understand and respect. But the way the bar staff approached us was wrong. I was most upset about him telling us we needed to respect their culture. First of all honey, I'm gay and in a gay bar!! This IS MY PLACE! And secondly, there was absolutely NO SIGNAGE anywhere that indicated only a certain kind of dancing was allowed on the dance floor!! It was a terrible experience and put a very poor taste in my mouth! I never had an issue with RoundUp until that night!! Don't ever want to support...
Read moreI have been going to roundup for 25 years to state the obvious not young. But still enjoy early nights leave by midnight more the cowboy crowd. I personally no Gary and Allen great guys and now being handed off for Gary’s son which is a nice legacy. I would warn to make sure and bring your id. The front door would not let me in even when I showed him my picture I’d from my iPhone wallet which is not a physical ID. I asked if Allen or Gary was there and he told me he didn’t care who I was I wasn’t getting in without my physical ID. I went and got it and brought it to the door msn and we had a heated exchange as I lost connection with friends by this point was over it snd him and as much said so. What happened next was shocking as he told me to leave and I told him what I thought but when I was outside I had four security guys on me and the manager finally backed them off. I told the manager what happened and also told him they should be careful with staff trying to manhandle outside the establishment on s public sidewalk. Good way to create a lawsuit All it would have taken would have been one of these boys to lay a hand on me snd it would have went there. The manager did a good job of de escalating but hope Gary snd Allen read reviews theses day. Maybe on the beach in mexico common sense woukd have been a better...
Read moreI was so excited to celebrate my 21st birthday at Oaklawn, but now I regret it. I walked in through the back, had my ID scanned by a worker who wished me a happy birthday, which seemed nice. Later, a drunk girl overheard me talking about my birthday and burst into the restroom stall I was in while I was peeing to wish me happy birthday, which felt really weird (now looking back she probably wanted to put a face to her false accusations). Then, while waiting for karaoke, me and my friends were being escorted to the front to have our ID's checked AGAIN by workers and an officer. They closely inspected it and wished me a happy birthday again. After an hour, I left and returned, only to have a worker (white, redhead, pink face mask) wave me away repeating "bye" and accuse me of bragging about being underage in the restroom, which never happened (I'm assuming the overly intoxicated girl was a hater). I tried to explain and even offer proof (credit card, Instagram stories, pic of birth certificate), but he wouldn't let me speak and tried to call someone on me. I left feeling so humiliated and frustrated. It’s awful to be treated like this when I did nothing wrong. And if they thought I was underage then why would they let me stay before the second time they gave me a hard time. Won’t be...
