Our company hired Tacos, Bites & Beats for a company lunch so all we had to do was order our food and wait. While we all appreciated the free lunch, having this catered also meant that we were given a limited menu.
I ordered the burrito (which seemed to be the biggest meal you could get based on what I saw), but they also offered quesadillas and tacos (I think you got 3 tacos, but it could have been 4, I don't remember).
I got the carnitas (pork), but they also offered chicken, paneer (vegetarian), and beef (probably shredded, but I didn't see this). And our drink selection was bottled water, Coke, Diet Coke, and Sprite.
As far as the experience, it was not as fun as it sounds. The truck that arrived did not look like the bright festive one you see in the pictures. Ours was made of corrugated metal and wood and looked a bit worn around the edges. The beats part of our experience was a large-ish speaker (think of this as a large Bluetooth speaker you'd bring to a party) situated inside the passenger side door of the truck.
Ordering was interesting for a food service that seems to promote themselves as fun. There are two windows; one marked for ordering and the other for food output only. I know this because I accidently tried to order from the wrong window and was directed to the correct one.
You order food/drink, get the drink, we got a small cup of elotes with a fork, and a ticket with our number on it then you wait till you are called.
I had about 4 people ahead of me, but it probably took around 8-10 minutes for my meal. I didn't keep track of time, but I had a nice outdoor talk with my fellow co-workers, finished the elotes, and still had time to throw the cup away before my number was called.
The elotes was very tasty and I think most people were commenting on how good that tasted. Everyone that got the tacos were a bit disappointed by their size. To me they looked smaller than what I think of as a street taco and the quesadilla looked a little small too which is why I went with the burrito.
My carnitas burrito was decent enough lunch portion and tasted fine. I'm not a huge fan of cilantro (and this had a distinctive cilantro flavor), but they gave me the option of having this without cilantro and I chose to have everything just the way it was.
Overall, I'd say our experience with Tacos, Bites & Beats was ok (at least that's what everyone was saying when we talked about it), but keep in mind that I got this...
Read moreI recently discovered this place about a month ago and really fell in love with their breakfast tacos. While they’re a little pricy it was worth it to me. I became a regular stopping by every morning I possibly could. Each visit I would even tip more than the average person bc I enjoy supporting small businesses. Especially, if the food is good.
However, after my last experience that will no longer be the case due to poor tasteless rude customer service. The lady who took my order messed up my entire order adding eggs, pico, and the wrong salsa. When I took my order back she refused to correct my order stating that, “If we mess up, then we’ll correct it, but not when it’s not our fault.” I said ma’am I didn’t order eggs nor pico on my tacos. She then, pointed to the menu and said everything comes with eggs and pico. She basically tried to tell me I ordered MY food incorrectly. I said ma’am it is your fault bc you didn’t even give me the correct salsa I ordered, even after repeating my order back to me. I asked her politely to remake my order bc I love their tacos that much and I wanted to continue to support their business. She made something so small a huge issue and even wanted to double charge me for their mistake and had an attitude for no reason. I said ma’am don’t even worry about it, just refund me my money. She then tells me she couldn’t bc the manager wasn’t there. Well at that point she wasn’t trying to give me my money back, nor remake my order. Needless to say, my money was refunded finally. But, who treats their customers like this? Especially regulars who actually like your food and enjoy investing in your business. I’m so disappointed bc that’s not the right way to treat people. I really hope they work on their customer service. Best of luck to this establishment, as this experience put a very bad taste...
Read moreMy daughter and I really enjoy the food at Taco, Bites & Beats. We usually drive from North Dallas Suburbs for lunch. But yesterday 12/24/2023 "which is a Saturday" we decided to visit for dinner since we would be in the area shopping at antique stores "small business". Per Google the restaurant is open on Saturdays from 7am to 7pm. We arrived it was closed at 5:25pm, we observed an employee in the parking lot and asked why was the restaurant closed so early he replied "no english". I was shocked at the response, but oh well. I noticed several cars pulled into the parking lot, people sitting in their cars shocked the place was closed well before the posted time on Google. Me and my daughter both checked Google again and the time read open 7am to 7pm on Saturday, closed on Sunday. Many of customers including myself were disappointed because the food is delicious but very disappointing to drive to the restaurant and it's not open during the posted hours. I understand things happen, hopefully the owner either updates Google with the correct hours or actually stays open to 7pm. Customers have options, let's be honest Dallas alone with suburbs is a long distance drive by itself. It's really annoying to drive a distance only to find out the location is closed early. Since moving to Dallas, trying several Mexican restaurants, this is the only one that actually season their food and it's delicious. I'm disappointed at the response from the employee as if it's not important to address why the restaurant is closed so early. As I've mentioned prior customers have options, and I've tried my best to support small businesses but incidents like this make...
