I called to order a salad for pickup. I arrived before their website closing time of 1100 pm. and found they were closed long before 1100 pm. They had closed and did not bother to call or inform me. I called and spoke to the manager who chastised me because the salad sat in the kitchen for an hour. As an ER physician I explained to him that I happen to be busy taking care of my patients. I was very surprised that instead of apologizing to me the manager of the store chastised me for being late to pick up a salad. He was extremely rude and hostile and just hung up on me when I called the following day. Very disappointing.
RESPONSE to your response:
I WAS CARING FOR A BURNED CHILD IN AN EMERGENCY ROOM!!!!!!!
I ENCOURAGE YOUR CUSTOMERS TO PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW AS THIS WILL BE THE MOST ENTERTAINING REVIEW THEY EVER READ.
Do you not get that. Wow!! Are you guys really angry at me for being late to pick up a salad!!!! I am going to go ahead and respond only because this has become somewhat funny and pathetic. Let me go ahead and apologize to you for hurting your Fifis and not picking up the salad early enough for you because I was delayed. Guys......it's only a salad, it's not a big deal. I only placed a bad review primarily because the next day when I called your manager he was very rude. He was actually angry at me " we prepared it and you didn't pick up the salad for over an hour, by then it was not edible". I actually laughed and said "you don't know ER doctors, we always eat cold food and late at night", then he hung up on me.
You are using the foul language technique as a game to excuse yourself. I only used the word damn once when I told the manager, "I am shocked you are actually mad at me for not picking up the damn salad early?" Sorry if I hurt your feelings with that. I am an emergency room physician who was busy seeing a child that had been burned in a house fire late that evening and we were unable to pick up the order until late. I sent someone to pick up the order and they were there at least 15-20 minutes prior to your stated closing time of 11:00 PM. But even if you had closed 3 minutes prior, it is unprofessional for an establishment to state a closing time, on your website, and close even 3 minutes before if someone has called in an order. We are an emergency room and we do see very ill people. Your GM called directly on my cell phone so I took the call. He never said we are about to close. In fact when I called back the next day he admitted that you closed early because of no clients. He could have very easily told me we are closing early, which he did not do. For goodness sake, it is pitiful that I, the customer, am having to explain and almost apologize for my behavior to a restaurant for not picking up a salad because I was attending to a burned child. Bottom line, if I were a restaurant owner, I would be apologizing to my customer for not getting his salad because we closed even 3 minutes sooner. Instead you are chastising me for being late to pick up a salad. This...
Read moreAs a weekly regular I didnât think Iâd be leaving this review but last week I had an experience that made me never want to return to WRAH. My friends and I were weekly regulars on Tuesday evenings for trivia. We have been triviaing there since before the pandemic and weâre excited to return a few months ago when White Rock started up again. When we started back, we immediately noticed a change in the quality of the waitstaff. It took longer to get attention from a staff member, and often a piece of our order or part of a request was missing (forgotten side of fries or missing ketchup). We chalked it up to people being new or there not being enough waitstaff but this became a constant experience. As time passed, the service got worse, our table often having to flag down a staff member to have our order taken.
Last week we were ignored by one staff member and we tried to get her to take our order, but she refused. Eventually a different staff member came to take our order and we asked her why the first staff member wouldnât help us, she didnât have an answer. The second staff member took our order and gave us okay service but became visibly annoyed when we closed our tabs with gift cards. We won the gift cards at trivia and use them often but rarely close our tabs with them. This was the first time I remember doing so and when she went to leave without me leaving a tip, I called her back and tried to hand her my credit card. She asked what it was for and I said the tip. She pushed it back to me saying you canât leave a tip on a balance closed with a gift card. I mentioned I didnât know that and she said yeah, well I thought you did and walked away. I was surprised by her rudeness considering we see her every week and tip every time. We tip on top of the fact that this waitress usually charges our group, four people, gratuity.
Maybe the service is better on the weekends, but The service I get on Tuesday evenings doesnât make me want to return later in the week. The food has become a subpar experience as well, the last two things I purchased were overcooked. While I understand food costs have gone up, no one wants to pay $14 for a burnt sandwich. The one good thing about this place is the beer. I really wish they still had the jalapeño beer they make because it was top tier. Yes, I know itâs seasonal, but which season? Because weâve gone through Winter, Spring, and now Summer and it still isnât...
Read moreI debated even posted this. I am a frequent customer at this location. However, tonight was a terrible experience. I ordered the BLT on Steroids. It was around 8:40pm, close at 10pm, and had been trying to flag down the bartender for close to 15 minutes. They looked at their watch when I finally was able to ask to order food. I get my food, which was suppose to come on Texas toast, and itâs on Rye bread with âthick cut bacon.â The bacon was not thick cut and extremely thin slices. Thinking maybe the kitchen made a mistake, I asked the bartender about the bread, didnât make a big deal about the bacon. They went on a rant about how they probably didnât have the bread and will just pick one and that the kitchen staff didnât speak English so they have issues and no one ever knows what will come out for orders, âIt is random sometimes.â They went on and on about how because they donât speak English that they canât do their job. I woke in the retail industry and using language as a barrier is never an excuse. This really upset me. Using people who speak a different language as a reason why the bread was wrong is ridiculous. Unacceptable. This bartender continued to degrade the kitchen staff. I stated that if youâre out of an ingredient that is understandable but not asking prior to making an ingredient dealing itâs okay is not acceptable. They did offer to make me a different plate but Iâm not going to waste food. I donât like rye bread at all but at this point it was after 9pm and didnât want to cause more commotion. The bartender gave me a free beer to make up for this mistake but continued to talk about the language barrier in the kitchen and also talked about how management didnât care about feedback and how their voice didnât matter. The reason I decided to put in a review was after hearing the bartender conversation with another customer and the manager on duty. They were all talking crap about customers ordering food close to closing time and making jokes about telling them they donât have what they asked for in stock. This is unacceptable. This visit makes me not want to come back ever. Again, I come here often but todayâs experience was a...
