Food - (B) I tried the 4 cheese smothered turkey leg and the Nawlins Saint Turkey Leg. The four cheese turkey leg was topped with shrimp, andouille sausage, and cheesy pasta. The sauce was ahh-mazing! Just wished there had been more of it. This one will not disappoint. My lil brother demolished it and wanted more. The Saint Turkey Leg was smothered with red beans and rice. It was a very filling dish as the red beans are a meal by themselves. They use name brand Camelia beans which would put any Louisiana native at ease plus they were properly soaked allowing me to dive right in to the tender juiciness. The beans weren’t too spicy but I definitely could have handled a little more spice like they use back “home”. I asked for pepper but that’s a whole other story. The star of both meals was the actual turkey leg itself. When they say it falls off the bone, they weren’t playing. I grabbed the base of the leg to put it in my to-go container and nothing moved but the bone. I was able to set it aside and scoop up all the meat and toppings effortlessly. The meat was tender, juicy, and flavorful. I got the garlic parmesan glaze and my little brother got the honey chipotle. I liked mine better but trust me when I say neither one of us were complaining. The Turkey leg was so good, I would consider getting it without the stuffing and ordering the broccoli cheese rice, red beans and rice, and 4 cheese pasta as side items. That way, I can have the best of all three worlds!!! Don’t let that (B) rating confuse you. It was good. Very good. Couple of modifications and it would have been an “A” for sure. First, is the plating. Food should look attractive when it’s presented. I didn’t take a picture because the pic wouldn’t have done the food justice. Tasted way better than it looked. Second is food temp. Food should be hot and letting off a lil steam when delivered. Gives off the impression that it’s fresh and made to order. The food was actually made to order but wasn’t heated enough for my liking. Lastly, it never hurts to add more sauce. Even if you skimp on it in the mix in order to add it to the top, I expect a smothered leg to be covered in sauce. Will help with the presentation as well.
Desserts/Sides. - (B) The have 3 desserts: Peach Cobbler, Banana Pudding, and Strawberry Cheesecake. First of all, the home made from scratch Peach cobbler is only available on Sundays and I went on a Tuesday so 🤦🏽♀️. I “settled” for the banana pudding with bananas but my mouth wasn’t understanding why it didn’t taste like the peach cobbler it had its mind set on. Wasn’t bad. Thick, creamy, fresh and I received a large portion. I also had broccoli, rice and cheese casserole. It’s not Cheddar’s but it was ok.
Alcoholic Beverages - (B) Even with a “fill-in” bartender, drinks were quickly prepared, flavorful, and loaded with liquor. Many of their drinks fall on the sweeter side but they have a full service bar for people wanting drinks on the rocks, neat or with a mixer. I suggest trying their homemade non-alcoholic Corey’s Cool-Aid and adding a shot of your favorite liquor. The cool-aid is sweet but the right amount of alcohol adds just the right touch. They have 5 flavors. I only remember Punch, Purple Lemonade, and Grandaddy’s (which I used to call Red Kool-Aid when I was growing up).
Pricing - (A) Affordable to me. To go buy your own Turkey leg and cook it for some hours is overrated and unnecessary when you have someone to do it for you and at such a great price. Maybe they will add family packs or combos to the menu one day. But in the mean time, I just ordered some of the side items cuz the price was right and the portions were nice. Hate they nixed the mashed potatoes. Hint Hint. A loaded mashed potato bowl would have been errthang!
I will post pictures with my review of the service, management, parking, entertainment, and...
Read moreI was with my friend and his godfather, and his godfather suggested we eat at a place called, "Turkey Leg Paradise". Even though I am not an especially big turkey fan, the name of the place had me hooked, because now I was intrigued as to what exactly is a turkey-leg paradise?
The atmosphere has a family-friendly feel with a few TVs on various channels. Our waitress was very friendly,, helpful, and welcoming. She answered all our questions with patience and made suggestions when appropriate.
We ordered the smothered turkey fries as an appetizer. Usually with smothered fries, the fries suffer from sogginess, but these fries remained crisp and the turkey also had both melt-in-your-mouth goodness and some crispy crackling elements. I thought it was so good that I wanted to order more of it for dinner, but was also curious about the stars of the menu: the smothered turkey leg dishes.
All three of us ordered a different type of smothered turkey leg: Broccoli Rice and Cheese casserole, 4 Cheese Cajun Pasta, and Spicy Mac. When these dishes came out, they even attracted the attention of a couple of the patrons at another table, who took pictures of them. One of them asked me to pull the bone off the turkey leg. I was surprised at how easily the leg bone came off! If you're not a big turkey fan, these dishes will convert you, if you are a big turkey fan, you will love these even more.
But if you absolutely insist on no turkey, there are fried catfish and fried shrimp options. There are lacto-vegetarian options available, but only sides like macaroni and cheese, broccoli rice and cheese and red beans and rice.
There was so much food, we got a doggy bag to bring home our food, but made sure to order dessert. I ordered the banana pudding and was pleasantly surprised! The pudding was thick, like a mousse, and the vanilla wafers on top were not soggy. All in all, very delicious and everything we ate was a hit!
If you have friends visiting from outside Dallas, take them to Turkey Leg Paradise and your friends will...

I work in the service industry and this by far was the worst experience I’ve ever had! I came here FOR THE FIRST TIME with some of my co workers (also industry workers) this past Saturday 4/4/21 there was no direction nor greeting. We sort of figured out things on our own. We get to a table, which I cleaned, and sat down wasn’t greeted for maybe another 15 mins. At this time we were maybe there 15-20 mins already! The server finally took our drink and food orders, we LITERALLY sat at that table for like 45 mins with no waters/drinks NOTHING! We finally get water/drinks after 45-1 hour and the food comes 15-20 mins later. So we’re eating and I didn’t too much like my food. I let the server know and proceed to ask if I can order something else and she tells me to hold so she can go talk to the manager. All cool. She comes back and says, “the manager said she can take your food off but you can’t order anything else or you can order something else, pay 1/2 your current order on top of paying for the new order” mind you the manager sent the server to say this versus doing a “table touch” and delivering the message herself! Very unprofessional. Literally ALL our faces dropped!!! I have NEVER heard of such a thing/“solution” in all my life! That’s not customer service AT ALL! Moral of the story this business needs some culture and customer service training. That’s not how you handle customer issues ESPECIALLY at the management level and I will not be returning! It’s sad to say but experiences like this are why a lot of black owned businesses don’t get supported [piss poor customer service]. It literally be your own people! I will say the vibe was great otherwise. Hopefully their service turns...
