Food is greasy, burnt, not fresh and DEFINITELY not Thai. It taste like Sam's Club frozen stir fry and frozen spring rolls with cheap meats and spoiled vegetables. The only thing that tastes freshly prepared were the shrimp blankets.
I had been frequenting the location in Ft. Worth and enjoyed it enough that when work brought me to Dallas I decided to order from this location. HORRIBLE WASTE OF GAS, MONEY, AND TIME. These restaurants list that they are independently owned and operated. This one is the worst out of the 3 locations I have eaten. So bad that I have no desire to spend my money at any of the other locations again. Seriously the amount of oil used made everything taste soggy and bland, even though I ordered spice level 4. There was no taste of spice or flavor just grease. The heat was obviously turned up too high because the meat and the vegetables had burn marks. The quality of meat is cheap - the chicken was more like gristle and the shrimp were definitely tiny. On top of the poorly prepared food, the employees were going into the kitchen food prep area from outside the restaurant where they had retrieved personal items from their vehicles, without washing their hands. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise that the food tasted so horrible I threw it ($33 worth) in the trash, instead of getting food poisoning. This location is a poor representation of...
Read morePicked up order of Pad Thai chicken and Yellow Curry tofu. My hubby and I recently moved to this area and were eager to find a Thai restaurant for our go-to meal of Pad Thai and Yellow Curry. We’re both from Dallas and familiar with all the popular Thai restaurants in the city. However, since moving to downtown Dallas, ZAAP Kitchen was the closest to our house and we were pretty hungry! Decided to give it a shot due to the good reviews. I was skeptical since I didn’t know if it was mostly whyte people posting reviews; people with bland palates. My hubby and I are both native to Dallas and are Mexican American so we love flavorful and spicy dishes; we’re partial to our Thai brothers’ and sisters’ cuisine.
I was not expecting much since we’ve dined at most all the Thai restaurants in the downtown area and were not very impressed with the taste.
However, this place offers TASTY dishes! I was blown away at the flavors and the spice levels offered. We’ve only tried the popular Pad Thai and Yellow Curry dishes but are excited to come back!! I’m eager to try their other dishes.

Read moreUsually my go to for Thai and Laotian food around the DFW area. Quality of food is fantastic and the staff are extremely welcoming. ZAAP have many locations around the DFW area, but this one gave me the best experience. 10/10, would recommend this restaurant to anyone trying to get their Laotian and Thai food fix.
I got ZAAP Crispy Chicken Wings as an appetizer. Garlicky and crispy with a punch of umami flavor.
Pad Thai here is amazing, has all the characteristics of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy. I usually get the combination protein choice and the quality is amazing.
For dessert my date and I got Mango Sticky Rice. Just the perfect amount of sweetness that left my date and I speechless.
Definitely seeing myself as a weekly...
