Boy do I got an experience to write about. Came in, sat down, ordered our food. After like 2 minutes the waiter came and apologized for the food taking so long. My sister and I were confused but assured him it was alright. I ordered beef pho and she fried rice and an iced thai.
After we both tasted our meals, we were absolutely confused as to how there were people consistently walking in the door. Her order was wrong. She ordered pork, but got chicken and mini pepperonis. Her food tasted literally of just fried oil, like that fried rice taste. No seasonings, the meat was bland, and every so often she'd get a bell pepper taste. My pho broth tasted like it had come out of a carton. I am not even exaggerating when I say the only taste it had was of green onions. Even dousing it with hoisin and sriracha did nothing. The portion was way off, so I had a small amount of noodles and much more beef. Which, you guessed it, was tough and had no flavor.
This was the only time I've ever considered walking out of a restaurant. But it was late, we had driven 25 minutes to get here, so we stayed.
When we were ready to go, our waiter was busy with another table. Chatting with them for about 10 minutes. Good for him, get your tip, but cmon. We were only checked on once, when he apologized for the long wait 2 minutes in. Yeah he was friendly and polite, but unfortunately inattentive.
Oh, and my sisters thai tea? Never got it. We had to ask for it when we got our check. (AND we even had a whole convo on the price when we ordered it, so how was it forgotten??) The waiter thanked us, (who I am calling the waiter because I don't think he ever introduced himself) gave us our check, and left us. But we hadn't paid?? I was NOT about to wait 10 more minutes, so I walked up to the bar to pay. Quick friendly convo with the bartender. Paid, and zoomed out of there.
So... thinking about coming here? Unless you can mentally take a terrible...
Read moreI’ve had this place 4x so far since I’ve lived in the area. The appetizers here are the best! The DàLat rolls are where it’s at. Went in the other night for dinner. We were so excited to be back. Every other time I’ve been has been ok until then. We had a server who was very nice but she seemed new. She brought me the wrong drink and by the time it was remade, my boyfriend was already on to his 2nd drink. Then we put our order in for the entrees. We got what we usually get if we aren’t in the mood for pho. I got the pad Thai combo with no tofu, extra basil and he got fried rice and asked to add extra basil. A few minutes later, our server comes over and says the chef told her they didn’t have basil. Then she says that he said they had 2 kinds of basil and asked which we wanted. We told her we wanted the traditional Thai purple basil that is served with the pho. Honestly not sure why it was a question since it would have been between Italian basil or Thai and we’re not eating Italian soooo. And Mind you , I have ordered this dish 2 other times here and asked for this and it was never a problem. Now comes our food. Pad Thai is watery with no basil and had tofu when I asked for NO TOFU. honestly I don’t even know what it was! It was brown and bread like in texture but didn’t resemble tofu. I had to pick it all out. My boyfriend’s fried rice had NO EGGS and neither dish had the basil we requested. Instead it had something similar to cilantro and my boyfriend is one of those who tastes soap when he eats cilantro. We hated it. We just asked for Togo containers because we felt bad about giving our sever any hassle since she already seemed to be going through it with the kitchen staff. I wouldn’t blame her necessarily but I think the kitchen needs a refresher about how to make the food they serve. I’ll give this place another try on a different night and pray I don’t get the...
Read moreIf you want to have a relaxed meal, I recommend this place. Came to Dallas for business from Los Angeles. Came on a Friday. Walking in it felt very chill and casual. Not crowded and just the perfect amount of people to enjoy the place. It was a seat yourself type of place. I was acknowledge immediately and given a menu. Big points here. I decided to sit at the high top tables by the bar and the bar tender was so cool and recommended me trying the spicy edamame. He said I had to try it so I ordered. I also ordered the Chicken Pho with extra noodles and hard boiled egg. He also took my drink order. I did get my Pho before the appetizer (seriously not a big deal). The minute I tasted the broth, my eye rolled back and my taste buds went crazy! It was Delicious!!! The pho just gave me a taste bud orgasm. They also have a “Fresh Bar”, which if you wanted more fresh herbs and veggies for your soup, you can grab some. For the edamame, it did come after my meal (again, no biggie). I now understand why the bar tender wanted me to taste them. They were the perfect amount of spice, not greasy, and the onion flakes on top gave it a good touch of crunch.
Service: Truly, everyone was just so nice and attentive. Non-agressive, nothing over the top. It’s just a nice friendly chill approach. The winner here was the bar tender, he checked up on me often and was just friendly. Great attitude and just approachable. Love it!
Overall, great place, great service and great food. I look forward to making more visits to try more items...
