Not happy to post a one-star review, because I’ve been a huge fan of their pizza in the past. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was poor and I can no longer recommend Zalat. In our last order, I discovered an open staple in a slice of my pizza. It cut my gums and, I imagine, could have done more damage had I swallowed it. It was pretty upsetting.
I reached out to them via their customer service form. Mostly, I wanted to let them know in case their was an issue with an ingredient or other part of their kitchen process—it was certainly unusual. The next day, I received an e-mail from their manager that leaned towards insinuating that she didn’t believe me, establishing that there aren’t any staples in their restaurant, and requested to see a picture. I responded with photos as requested and now haven’t heard a response in nearly two days.
I’m strongly hoping that this is not a common occurrence, but downplaying my experience before ghosting me indicates customer focus issues and questionable management. My partner and I have ordered Zalat two to three times a month for the past couple of years, so this has all been very disappointing. As a regular customer, I have no reason to lie for free pizza, and I’d expect a restaurant to find this more concerning than they apparently do.
If this kind of experience raises any alarms to you, I advise you to explore and support another...
Read moreOrdered a pizza because Zalat was recommended by a co-worker. It was delivered on time and it was a pleasant interaction with the delivery person. The pizza was delicious and I enjoyed it very much. I ordered the Reaper Roulette where they will put some reaper pepper on a random slice, oh yeah I was feeling edgy. Well I ate a few slices and one was a bit spicy so I said to myself "reaper blah blah blah". I set the rest of the slices aside to eat later and that was that. Well in the morning I remembered I had my pizza slices and proceeded to re-heat said slices. Thinking I was out of the woods with the reaper I began to scarf down, well got to the last slice and as I am chewing the enormous bite I took I begin to feel the lava seep out and my mouth was on fire! Yes the very last slice I ate was loaded with the fiery goodness. So here I am nose runnin and eyes watering writing this review. I loved the pizza and the experience I highly recommend but order the roulette at your own risk. Also if you order delivery please order straight from Zalat and not 3rd party food delivery apps it will help the bussiness and make the delivery more streamlined. So with fiery...
Read moreWe stopped by for my nephew’s birthday because all he wanted was a really good cheese pizza—and he said this was the best cheese pizza he’s ever had! We got him a personal cheese pizza, and the rest of us decided to try the beef pepperoni after realizing it was the pepperoni. We ended up ordering two large Master Class pizzas and the personal cheese, and our total was about $57, which felt like a steal—especially compared to what we spent on burgers the night before.
Zalat is a walk-up and order spot (no dine-in seating), but that worked perfectly for us since we planned to eat at home. The staff was friendly and engaging, and we noticed how clean the place was—they were actively tidying up while the kitchen was busy.
The pizza itself was excellent. I honestly haven’t had a takeout pizza this good in a long time. The beef pepperoni had great flavor, and the crust was just right. Just a heads-up: while the pepperoni is beef, not all their toppings are halal or kosher. Their supreme pizza does include pork items, so if that matters to you, stick to the pepperoni or veggie options.
Great experience all around,...
