UPDATE: I’ve gone back to this nail salon 3 times since my initial review and their customer service has remained top tier. They replied to my review and immediately removed/updated their signage. I don’t think they were intentionally attempting to be deceptive but rather there was a disconnect between what the signage stated and what the average person could understand the signage to mean which is way I’m updating my review and the number of stars I gave would rate them. They have made significant improvement in their price transparency by letting the customer know exactly what you are paying for each service instead of just quoting you a total price.

As with any new business, it sometimes takes some time to get all of your ducks in a row and understand the current market. It is my belief that ULUX is on the right track.

I strongly recommend that you check them out especially if you live and/or work in the area.

Initial Review: They provide great customer service however the banner and advertisement that says “20% Off All Services” is not true. It’s only 20% off the “main service” and they are going to see to it that you get as many “services” as possible. They, like many other nail salons nickel and dime you for everything. I wish nail salons would realize that in today’s economy price transparency is key and using misleading tactics to get people into your salon will be short lived!!

There were really nice people working there, but it was the first and last time I went there. I trusted the stars and chose this place, but I found out that they were mostly fake. You will get a 5$ discount if you put a review for them. Anyway, I asked the technician four times that I wanted a square-form nail, and although my nails were long enough, she was unable to do so. As a result, I have the ugliest nail I’ve ever had. It was not acceptable in general, and I don’t recommend it.

-Update after a week and their reply comment: First of all, I never asked for a discount. Your service was so bad that I was unwilling to pay. I saw a 5$ discount sign on your desk and asked about it. Then you explained in exchange for a review, you'll get a 5$ discount.

Yes. You tried to contact me, but as I said, I will never make a mistake twice. I have a busy life, when I dedicate a day and time to something, it is almost impossible to find another time soon.

My niece patronized this establishment two weeks ago and was grossly overcharged for her service. She requested a short French tip with only one design on each hand and was charged $120 dollars.No prices were listed for patrons to know what to expect as far as pricing for nail services.The pricing should be disclosed especially if the price tag is totaling over $100 for one set of nails and to take advantage of new unsuspecting clients, especially a young one is so disheartening.To add insult to injury the "design" she added fell off after a couple of days.

Ulux Nail Spa try being more transparent with your clientele about all of your services. The perfect way to retain your clients listing prices or even disclosing that the prices will be 50% markup of all other nail salons in the area. I definitely do not recommend this nail salon unless you want to support a business who practices price gouging and deceptive...
