I was torn between three and four stars, but decided to go with four because of the uniqueness of this little eatery.
First, the basics. It's easy to find. If you have to make a left turn into the parking lot and manage to miss it, you can turn at the corner and go into the back of the lot, so you don't have to go all the way around the block. There is plenty of parking. It's a small place with no indoor seating, but quite a bit of covered patio area. We got there about 5:30 and didn't have any trouble finding a spot. The area is clean and there are vats of mustard, ketchup and mayo in easy access, along with napkins.
The staff was friendly and helpful. It took a bit to get our order, but that's because the fries are made fresh.
We ordered two medium poutines (one each of the traditional and the Italian) and some chili dogs. When they got to the table, we discovered that just one of the poutines would have been plenty. The hotdog was on the ordinary side. The chili was good, but the dog could have been better. If it had been a kosher dog, it would have been great. This one had a bit of an odd texture, and I wouldn't order it again.
The poutine.......now there's something you don't get every day! Just the thought of potatoes and gravy appeals to my southern heritage. I wasn't sure about the twist of the cheese curds, but in general, cheese make nearly everything better. It came to the table steaming hot. The curds had already started to reach melty goodness. I was expecting them to be cheddar, but they were much more similar to mozzarella. The gravy was okay, it didn't taste homemade, but the whole combination was something that I could definitely live with. The more I ate, the more I wanted. Ironically, the Italian was less of a hit, I thought it would be my favorite. The sauce had plenty of meat, but lacked the correct seasoning for a really good sauce. I was surprised to find that they actually reheated pretty well the next night.
In spite of being pretty well stuffed, with half of each poutine to bring home, we decided there was one dessert that demanded our attention. We had to try the ice cream "Panini." This was something we'd never seen - a warm brioche bun, stuffed with vanilla soft serve and a choice of chocolate crumbles or apple pie filling. Both of these are said to be imported from Italy. It's fall, we had to have the apples. The whole thing was delectable. The eggy brioche, the creamy richness of the ice cream and the pie filling which was, indeed, different than any I'd had before. My only wish was that there had been more filling. After a full meal, though, one was easily big enough to share.
I'll probably never be the same again. I looked at a bowl of mashed potatoes a couple of days later and figured they really needed some cheese curds and gravy. I've been...
Read moreWe were excited to find this nice looking ice cream store near our home. My boys were eating their ice cream and my 12 year old started pulling a hair out of the ice cream. He pulled it slowly, it was long and coming out from inside the ice cream. This was not something that fell on top by accident it was IN the ice cream. I took it up to the counter to alert the manager. An employee pointed her out and I told her. Her reaction was not what I was expecting. She looked irritated with me and said "What do you want me to do?" "Do you want another one?" My son had already eaten about 85% of it and I did not feel it was a good choice to present him with another one. I politely declined. I wasn't sure what I was expecting, maybe an APOLOGY or a coupon for our next visit? She said again "What do you want me to do" "It happens" and looked at me as if I was being unreasonable. I wasn't asking for anything. I just wanted her to know. She was in full defense mode which actually made me very uncomfortable. I said I would write a bad review and that made her furious. "What do you want, it happens!" she exclaimed. (This gets much better keep reading) Then she walks in the back and I see her angrily explaining about this horrible customer to another manager. I get my family and we leave. I wasn't really going to leave a bad review UNTIL Mr. Manager ran after me. Hey! I turned around. He looked like he was going to leap over the rail and lunge at me. I said "yes?" He said (I'm not making this up) "You don't need to be an A$% Hole" I was honestly taken aback. I said "You can read about it on line" He replied in anger "You don't need to be an A$& hole and leave a review". He just made it imperative that I share this story to all. So much for finding an ice cream place near home. We will NEVER EVER be back there. Unsanitary. Mean, rude managers. I still cannot believe how bad of an...

Considering I got Cold fries onetime from pre ordering and forced to stand in a Long line while I look at my bag of food get cold. This particular day the lines were very long and I just refused to pay for cold food Twice. I got to the front of the line Politely asked for fresh fries because of my prior experience. The cashier then ask some Snobby girl to drop me some fresh fries. The tramp got very hostile Rolling her Eyes and also said no and told the cashier to just give me back my money. Seriously 😳 all because a customer wants fresh fries and Hot food that I’m Paying my Money for. They forced me to stand in a line while my food was Already sitting for over 10minutes. That’s non sense, poor way to handle business Professionally. If you’re business is so busy as per usual Invest in a pick up and order line; Also I’ve watched how certain customers get their money handed to them hand to hand while others they sit your money on the counter for you to pick up, ummm can’t even be Passive with bigotry, it Cleary shows! I’ll never spend my black dollar at this place it’s Obvious my money, time and being a customer isn’t vlued and I’ll never recommend this business. Poor business makes the food Not want to be eaten and if you have to take your job personal and use poor body Language twas Paying customers maybe some extra training or proper communication courses should be...
