Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Danville

Order onion rings, not many on my plate, and cold. Service was slow. We got our tickets, total was $ 20.25, when my hubby paid it was $25.00. I ask for my ticket to compare,, cashier said she didn't have it. Ask to talk to manager, manger gave my ticket. I ask her why the difference, she said you order a shake as your were leaving. I told her no. She then went and ask the cashier if I did, she said " I can't remember". She gave me my money back but she was rude, and unfriendly, she did even apologize for the mistakes. She acted like we were trying to get something free.....note: manager was cleaning OUR table when said cashier called her up. I told her what table we were at and she had the ticket table number right in front of her. She could see there was not a shake at the table nor one in our hands. I will not be back to this steak and shake again. We eat there at least 2-3...

Went there for a quick bite with my wife and son and my son wanted to play the claw machine and he won but it got stuck above the chute so he asked the manager nicely if he could get it for him and he said welp that’s unfortunate for you and walked away. Then as we were getting into our vehicle to leave we were circling the building to get turned around to head home and he stood at the window with the stuffed animal and waved at my son. So as any kid he felt defeated and wondered why the man couldn’t give him the stuffed animal the whole way home cause he won it fair and square so will not be going back. Everyone was just rude and our food basically got thrown at us and wasn’t very good. My wife and I hadn't been to Steak n Shake since Culver's opened. They both offer similar food choices, but after going back after several years, I was quickly reminded why I choose to go to Culver's over Steak n Shake. The service was mechanical at best. Nothing negative, nothing standout. The food was hot and delivered promptly, but it just wasn't very good. I felt like I was going to break out in acne and have a heart attack at the same time. The frisco melt I got wasn't that good and the fries left a bad starchy aftertaste in my mouth. So needless to say. While the food was hot and prepared properly, the product just isn't good. It might be okay at 2am after a night of drinking, but not while sober. I'll choose to go to Culver's and get some...
