Boozie's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Davenport

My wife and I had our first date here over 35 years ago. For the past few years it has declined to a disgusting point. We agreed to try it one last time and now we are the most disappointed we've ever been. We always get the trademark Boozie Burger and fries. Mine with only lettuce cheeses, bacon and sauce. My wife gets everything on hers. The last 4 visits, we've had to send the food back because the burgers have been severely undercooked or prepared incorrectly and the fries are usually limpy and luke warm. On Saturday night, my burger came raw again with sauteed onions, mayo, and limpy, cold fries. Not even close to what was ordered..... My wife's burger was red in the middle and severely undercooked with limpy cool fries. We like our steaks medium, but this was raw! After about 10-15 minutes the waitress came to our table and I politely informed her I'm happy to pay for my beer but the food was undercooked and inedible. She apologized and commented " and we had a good day going". Which inferred they know there's a problem ..... She tried giving me a free drink coin but I told her to keep it, we would not be returning.....Normally I would chalk this up to an outlier, but this is a similar experience each of the 4 times over the past 9 months that we've given the place "one more chance", Goodbye Boozies..... I have been a patron of this bar for the last year...never had any issues with ANY of the bar staff. Tonight for some reason , their credit card machine would not accept my card... no problem... I went to Blackhawk hotel to use a different ATM ...during this time the bar owner made a complete out of character facebook post that I was known for leaving bar tabs, unjustified, I have NEVER ever left a tab unpaid at this establishment.... I came back less then an hour to pay my tab, while they were holding my license and my card....police show up after the defamation on facebook and all of a sudden my card worked. 27.00....1000s of people saw their unwarranted post with tab paid in full...ive been a regular at this bar with NO ISSUES ever and nobody from ownership to management has made any attempts to remedy the situation.....I do not know WHO made this allegation but it's unfortunate a business as tendered as this establishment is that they would treat ANY individual(especially a regular patron) with this distespect....they continued to not only trespass me but have neglected to offer any correspondence to the social media repercussions. Boozies is great.

After seeing the Davenport Sky Bridge and Rhythm City Casino, my friends and I were hungry and looking for some drinks. The coat check lady at Rhythm City Casino recommended this place… and we are sure glad she did.

Walking it, it was a slow day, so we sat at the bar to converse with the bartender. She was jubilant and friendly. Served us promptly and kept us entertained. We ordered food and the chef came out to even talk to us. When he served us our food, he actually gave us an extra burger (we only ordered 2) and almost double the wings we ordered. He said we seemed like cool guys and wanted to take care of us. We tried to tip the chef, but he refused it no matter how hard we tried.

The food itself was great! But then again, I have a soft spot for bar food. I always say ‘Bar Food is the Best Food’! On top of that, we happened upon a drink special. So we were wining and dining for dirt cheap. So all in all, it was a great time and just the thing we all needed.

Full of food. Full of beer. Full of good memories. That’s what road tripping...
