Whitey's Ice Cream — Restaurant in Davenport

I only recently discovered this place as this was only our 2nd time here. I didn't even know it existed until the gas station attendant at the Shell down at the end of this strip mall here told me about it, and glad he did! They have Many of the fun and wonderful flavors of a classic ice cream shop that you'd expect as well as a few of their own unique blends! I love that they have the classically great Banana Split Sundae as well as several other Sundaes to choose from. All of the different Cone options and waffle bowls to choose from as well. As well as Milk shakes, Malts, Ice cream sandwiches, and even an ice cream pie can be ordered which looks super Delicioso! 👌🏽😋😍 The kids that work their, (teenagers), all seem to have great, friendly attitudes and very helpful! So refreshing of course for these days, lol. 👌🏽🙏🏽🥰 I was really blessed with their customer service skills both of these 2 visits here. This visit I went with the Brownie Underneath Sundae with one scoop of vanilla ice cream, hot fudge and she put whipped cream, chopped nuts and a cherry on top as well and it presented beautifully to me by her as I watched this girl take her time to make it so nice for me. 🙏🏽😊 It was good, but not great I will have to say for taste for this particular Sundae though, only because the little brownies were just the most Bland, not very chocolatey tasting brownies ever. Like something very cheap tasting.. which was real disappointing as this little one scoop, small scoop size too, cost $8. There was not enough ice cream at all in that tiny scoop size that she gave me to counter-act the very poor quality brownie taste I was having to work with. I was expecting just one good-sized, quality tasting, fudgey, chewy Brownie to be in this Sundae for the price but it was not, unfortunately.. so I would definitely not recommend that particular Sundae of theirs as I definitely will not be getting that one again, But, the place as a whole is still pretty Great in my opinion y'all! 👌🏽😊😋🍧🍦🍨🍌 Highly Recommend! One suggestion to the owner: The "atmosphere" part of my review here is that it has a nice atmosphere due to the great customer service and the Fun of just getting Ice Cream, lol!, but, it was also kind of awkard both times there due to the fact that people seemed to really want to hang out and actually Eat their Whitey's treats Inside of or right Outside of this place But, there is Not One table or Any chairs at all, so these people were just standing around, leaning against walls or wherever and trying to enjoy their purchased treats There, but with No where to actually just be at to Stay and not look awkward doing it... please think about fixing this for your customers that obviously Like your products ma'am or sir. Was okay. Extremely bright, cheerful and CLEAN!! NO inside the establishment bathrooms. My husband got a vanilla malt. Was SO INCREDIBLY SOLID AND THICK, he actually had to put in a cup holder 2 soften it up enough 2 eat!! They gave him a lid, a straw and NO SPOON 2 eat it with. We never even thought 2 ask 4 one bc what malt is thicker and more frozen than the icecream in a cone?? I got cherry chocolate chip ice cream cone. While Extremely good, the chocolate was hardly chips. They were dark chocolate CHUNKS!! Then the ice cream was all small pieces and not a true scoop. Made 4 a precarious treat. I'm not sure why it wasn't a true scoop bc the oce cream itself was kinda soft. My son got white chocolate Raspberry, bc he's NOT a chocolate fan. So, he gets handed his cone...and it's COMPLETELY FILLED with small pieces, shavings of dark chocolate...which he absolutely ABHORS!! But he's too polite 2 return it and get something he'd actually like and eat. So...

Here we go... 2 scoops of Ice cream non dairy ( up charge for non dairy ice cream as it's consider vegan!! ) , pup cup which is 1 scoop vanilla(on sale), and a SMALL shake $15! Drive through only. So I got a tiny super small shake BUT we weren't given a straw. When we asked the guy for a straw for the shake we were informed that DUE TO COVID 19 WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO GIVE OUT PLASTIC STRAWS FOR HEALTH REASONS. But we were given TWO plastic spoons and the lid to my shake is PLASTIC, the lids for all the ice cream we ordered are plastic and of course the spoons are plastic. WHAT!?!? That makes ZERO sense. They did not tell us that straws are now allowed due to covid19 when we ordered the ice cream. But after we paid the amount of a meal they told us. The price is absolutely insane...
