I have been to Il Bosco a handful of times. In general, the food and service are very good. I was just there again last Thursday and enjoyed a nice bottle of Barbaresco. We had the prawn appetizer with creamy polenta which we found to be okay. The prawns lacked a flavor but the polenta was tasty. We like going to Bosco because they offer 1/2 orders of past which allows us to share and taste the different past offerings. Having grown up making gnocchi with my Venetian grandmother next door I always like to try gnocchi. We split the gnocchi as an intermezzo and the gnocchi itself was a bit mealy but the sauce was excellent. My wife and daughter both had 1/2 order of pastas for their entrees and seemed to be content. I had the veal piccata with a side of grilled zucchini. It was very tasty except for the overkill on the capers which is no big deal. The restaurant had about 5 tables when we arrived and service was somewhat delayed at first but was fine after the initial contact. We were a bit disappointed in the dessert selections as they had not chocolate offerings that night. All in all, a...
Read moreWonderful Italian spot with authentic Italian cuisine but enough diversity and originality to not be pretentiously Italian. The menu is simple yet diverse and offers something for everyone. Everything is unique and well made, nothing I have had or seen here seems forced or thoughtless.
I've not had enough of the meals to give a comprehensive review but I can absolutely recommend this place. I had a nice, light piccata whitefish and their take on a Cesar salad, both of which were delicious. The wine selection is great as well. And the desserts were also on point - too on point as I couldn't resist the Belgian chocolate cake which would go handsomely with a digestif and an espresso. The veal marsala looked great as did the fried goat cheese arugula salad.
I definitely want to try some of the dishes featuring authentic guanciale as it's not something you see on many menus and it's delicious. If you know, you know. If not, you should try it.
They are just getting their legs back under them from the pandemic but luckily they were able to survive. I...
Read moreAmazing! Picked this restaurant mainly on location and hours because we were in area. Totally exceeded expectations. Had a bottle of valpolicella based on owners recommendation. Excellent! Had the pork belly appetizer—very good! And I’m not really a pork belly person. Our main courses were the lamb and pea gnocchi (my absolute favorite!!) and hangar steak (also excellent). Had bread brought before meal (the reviewers who complained about the amount of bread — what did they want — an entire loaf of bread??!!). There was plenty, and then we were served another savory bread with the meal. For dessert we shared the very rich and delicious chocolate torte. Totally loved our experience and will definitely come back. I don’t know where the negative reviews came from—definitely not our experience at all. Service wha polite, gracious and attentive. And we dine worldwide including Michelin starred restaurants. Be advised some nights are reservation only, so don’t expect to walk in even if they don’t look busy. Definitely worth...
