We have been looking for a BBQ place to replace our go to when it left Mooresville. It seemed like we tried every one that we could afford but none jumped out at us as a star. I've been wanting to go to The Crazy Pig since it opened but we didn't get the chance..... until now! We were in Davidson for an appointment and decided to have some of their BBQ for dinner. We ordered the Crazy Pig (pulled pork sandwich) with a side of hush puppies for me and the Wildcat (beef brisket sandwich) and a side of Mac and cheese for my husband. Of course we both tasted everything. Let me tell you that we found our new go to BBQ place! The pork was so tender and the slaw on the sandwich had just the right taste. The hush puppies were tasty, just a tad greasy but take out is never perfect. The serving was huge too!
My husband's sandwich was just as good, (maybe a little bit better š) tender brisket, grilled onions, bell peppers and cheese. Very flavorful. The only thing we weren't completely satisfied with was the Mac and cheese. The flavor was good but the texture was mush. š
The service was great! Young man behind the counter was polite, friendly and helpful. My husband said that they actually checked the food to make sure it was correct before putting it in the bag. š„³ Thank...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOut for a drive, my hunger led me to The Crazy Pig in Davidson, NC for some takeout. Hereās my honest two cents:
The baked beans fell flat right away. No depth of flavor, no smokiness, and not even a hint of meat mixed inājust plain and forgettable.
The pulled pork on its own didnāt impress much, coming across as bland. Thankfully, once I added their sauce, it came alive with much-needed flavor.
The hush puppies were another missādry, lacking in seasoning, and missing that satisfying bite I was hoping for.
As for the brisket, it arrived without any bark (a must for good brisket), and it was slightly overcooked. Again, the sauce helped, but the meat itself lacked the richness you expect from BBQ done right.
I held out hope for the chicken, which looked well-seasoned and smoked. Unfortunately, the flavor profile just didnāt landāthe seasoning blend clashed instead of complementing, and after one bite, I couldnāt continue.
At the end of the day, the brisket and pulled pork with sauce were edible, but overall, this spot has some serious work to do to measure up as a true BBQ destination. #GratuityAdded

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently stopped by The Crazy Pig, and let me tell you, this place lives up to its name in all the right ways. The burger I had was nothing short of amazing. The bun was toasted just enough to give that perfect balance of soft and crisp, and the beef patty was cooked to perfection, juicy, flavorful, and packed with that backyard-grill kind of taste thatās hard to find these days.
The toppings were fresh and thoughtfully layered with melted cheese, crisp lettuce, and just the right amount of sauce to tie it all together without overpowering the meat. And those fries were golden, crispy, and seasoned just right, complementing the burger beautifully. You can tell they put care into every bite.
What really made the experience stand out was the service. Rob was absolutely exceptional, friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making sure every guest enjoyed their meal. Itās rare to meet someone who brings that much pride and energy to their work, and it made all the difference.
If you havenāt tried The Crazy Pig yet, do yourself a favor and go. Great food, great people, and an atmosphere that makes you feel...
