Davidson Ice House — Restaurant in Davidson

Was very excited to try this place out but sadly dissapointed with the results. First off the staff was very friendly. We ordered a bowl with grilled chicken and two pounds of fried chicken and fries since we wanted leftovers. The first issue was that we were overcharged for the fried chicken because it "wasn't in their system". Not the staffs fault and the corrected the issue after with a cash refund.

The bowl. The classic hummus was pastey and tasted like celery. The grilled chicken was all dark meat which we didn't see advertised anywhere, I guess we assumed it would be white meat. Not a huge deal but would have been nice to know. The overall taste was a bit bland.

The friend chicken came out as 5 patties in a metal tray.... I thought we ordered 2 pounds of chicken tenders (like the picture) and the server told me these were the chicken tenders.... they were definately sandwich patties. Sadly overcooked and dry otherwise they may have been good! The fries were soft and not crispy despite asking for extra crispy fries. All in all a dissapointing experience where nothing ordered was what was expected.

Oh.... and have salt or pepper... I mean like at...

This was a great surprise, and so different from the reviews when they first opened. I thought that eating many tastes from one bowl was a sign of our slide into infantilism. I haven't done that since my kids were in a high chair. But it works great. The food is unbelievably fresh, and the sauces just right. I am mostly a vegan, and their vegan dishes follow the wonderful vegan method of interesting spices and textures, masterfully blending tastes from around the world. AND you don't get indigestion and clogged arteries from animal fats. The count is great, and anyone who says they didn't get enough food for $11 should immediately seek the care of a licensed dietitian. I simply can't wait to go back. It is my #1 Davidson restaurant.

I live nearby, so take out is a great choice for me. I love how eco-friendly they are-- the bowls and utensils are all recyclable. Their vegetarian mixes are world-class. Finally an affordable, friendly and eclectic restaurant in hoity-toity Davidson. I thought I was in Sonoma County...

I placed an order via the Toast app at 1:01pm and the order was promised by 1:26pm. I drove from 20 minutes away and arrived at 1:25pm and spoke to Tonya who said my order could not be found. I was placed on hold twice while she inquired about the order. A few minutes later I was told they just found my order and it would be at least 10 additional minutes to have it prepared. I had to be somewhere, so I asked to please cancel the order. She hurriedly said “ok, ok, bye” and very rudely rushed me off the phone. I called back and spoke to Jay, a manager, who could’ve cared less that an employee was rude- he said English wasn’t her first language and she didn’t mean anything by it. He honestly didn’t act like there was much of an issue with my order being lost/not being ready either. That was my first visit there and definitely will be my last! Now I’m driving back 20 minutes where I came from...
