If I could give 0 stars I absolutely would. Avoid this dumpster fire of a “restaurant” at all cost!
TLDR: The food was truly one of the worst meals I’ve had in my life, chef’s attitude was completely unprofessional.
I don’t write reviews often, but this experience was atrocious.
Let me start with 1 positive - as other reviews mention, service is fantastic our waiter was so sweet.
But the food & the chef left me speechless in the worst way.
First off, we ordered muscles for an appetizer that claimed to be fresh. They absolutely were not. They were watery, tasteless and disgusting. The table next to us also got them and we both mentioned to our waiter they were really bad.
Our waiter offered to switch them out for another appetizer so we went with bourbon shrimp. Also terrible. The sauce seemed pre-made from a bottle & was also pretty flavorless.
When the food arrived (I ordered the salmon, my friend ordered the chef’s special of filet mignon and scallops) my salmon tasted like cheap & frozen like other reviews mention. There was 0 flavor other than the overwhelming burnt toast taste from the char. Same for the potatoes & veggies. Literally would have made school cafeteria food look like a 5 star restaurant that’s how bad.
My friend ordered her steak medium rare & when she cut into it, it was cooked super unevenly with parts of it being more medium. She also said it had 0 flavor and asked for it to be redone. The chef came with the most sassy and passive aggressive attitude ever. He said that it was medium rare & “I don’t know what you want because this is medium rare” in the most defensive tone ever. She tried to explain & he kept arguing her so finally she said I’ll just take it but he tried to keep her from pulling it out of her hand. Finally he just said fine whatever, enjoy in the most rude stress I’ve tone.
To top it all off, they tried to offer us free dessert (probably to avoid us adding to the many bad recent reviews) be we declined.
I definitely will not be going back myself and 0/10 recommend this place to anyone else unless you want to...
Read moreVisited as a party of 8, 7pm reservations on a Saturday evening. The dining area was less than half full. Should have told me something.
Beer and Wine only no mixed drinks (Not the end but if you are a high end restaurant you should be serving mixed drinks)
Drink order was brought out piecemeal, (waters requested were forgotten, beers ordered were forgotten) It took three reminders to get it right. If it was busy… maybe, I would have understood but no this place was void of customers.
Many items on the menu were not available on the Friday Saturday Menu….They say it is a;
“...Restaurant X is a cozy bistro with an eclectic menu of international cuisine made from scratch with fresh, quality ingredients at affordable prices.”
That is so true…shepards pie, lamb, falafel, bourbon shrimp, etc…. These guys have zero idea what they want to be. My party ordered pork chops and crab cakes….I have had many crab cakes in my time and thes things were frozen, not made from scratch. Seared and cold in the middle and lastly of all the meals in our party this was the last item brought out. Many many minutes after the other meals were brought out one, two, at a time. What is up with the drip delivery method?
By the time the crab cakes arrived the other meals were luke warm to cold.
I had the pork chop. I love a good pork chop. They call it “X-Jurassic Pork Chop”, because they claim it weighs 19ozs. Well I know that weight is before cooking but I would have to seen it weighed, it was NOWHERE close to 19ozs. Just not possible. The Au-Poivres sauce seemed straight out of the jar.
As the meal was winding up the bill was paid on a handheld computer device that didn’t show you the itemization. I don’t know if the gratuity was included originally due to our party size or not but since I didn’t see the itemization on the bill I hit the 20% gratuity button on the device screen, paid, and left.
Looking at my credit card bill, my bill was $120 for just me and my companion. So disappointing. Fair warning...
Read moreVisited for lunch during the work week. The restaurant has a cozy vibe with a small bar and some tables indoors as well as a covered patio with seating outdoors.
My party and I ordered the stuffed mushrooms, kibbeh, Mediterranean veggie platter, kafta kebabs, Mediterranean rice, vermicelli rice and baklava.
Everything was good! When the kibbeh came to the table, we realized that it was fried and we were looking for raw kibbeh (kibbeh nayeh). Our waiter mentioned that they do prepare raw kibbeh but that you have to order it in advance.
Words of our table’s desire made it’s way to the kitchen and a lovely lady came out to inform us that she was working on preparing someone’s pre-ordered raw kibble and that she would prepare some for us if we didn’t mind waiting.
Oh my goodness, best decision ever! This raw kibbeh was the best kibbeh nayeh I have ever had. I’m actually not a huge fan of it (the other members in my party are the fans), but I decided to try it and it was soooo good! The Toum (garlic paste) was the freshest most garlic heavy Toum I have ever had (which is fantastic)! The in-house-made baklava was also the best I have ever had. So fresh and so delicious!
Overall, we had a great experience. All of the food items were so good. I would order everything again!
On the day we visited, there was only one young man servicing the tables and the bar. He did a good job handling all of the tables at once but it may take a little more patience if you are in a rush to get back to work.
Parking right in front of the restaurant can be a little limited depending on the time of the day, however, there is free street parking on Main St. and a whole lot directly behind the restaurant that connects through some stairs.
The restaurant is clean, is wheelchair accessible, bathroom was immaculate and the general vibe of the staff is that they are so happy to create good food for good people. Please check them out, I...
