The service from the server was okay, the hostesses were horrible and rude. Check out my hard rock hotel hollywood review for more detail on my issue with the hostesses. The atmosphere was fine. My issue was with the food quality and sloppy prepraration We ordered the following items: the fresh summer rolls, chicken wings, general tso's chicken, ginger fish, duck noodle soup, and duck fried rice.
Summer rolls: These were up to standard. The rice paper was not hard and the sauce was decent.
Wings: The chicken was fried well and juicy, however the sauce was very thin like water and did not adhere to the chicken making the chicken bland. The sauce also had one flavor profile....sugar. No slight saltiness or tang, nothing. The wings I also could tell were not marinated. The meat itself was flavorless. This place dosent like to season or marinade their meats.
General tso chicken: The chicken breast chunks were way overcooked to the point that the chicken was like floss. Had a hard time cutting into it and biting off pieces of it. Had to spit some out because I could not swallow it. No fried chili peppers that are signature to general tsos chicken either.
Ginger fish: the fish had no flavor not even a slight saltiness, nothing. It was swimming in ALOT of oil, barely any soy sauce.
Duck noodle soup: This was the worse. I was given 3 small pieces of duck. Not even whole pieces. More like scraps. The duck was not traditionally prepared in the chinese roasted duck way like you see in a proper chinese restaurant. It is literally cut up pieces of duck that were thawed out of the freezer, was not marinated, or seasoned and thrown into the deep fryer. I tried a piece of the duck and it was also rancid like it was old and refried. The soup was also lukewarm and not hot, so i had the server microwave it for me. I know she microwaved it because the plate and bowl were hot when she brought it back. The broth was also bland.
Duck fried rice: Same issue with the duck here as well as above. Also the fried rice was also very greasy. Way too much oil. No flavor at all. Literally rancid scraps of duck, rice, oil, and vegetables. Thats it.
Its no surprise we left hungry as the food was mostly unedible. I am convinced that the people in the back of the kitchen are not chefs or are not aware of the proper preparation methods for these dishes. It was very bad. All in all the price came to about 160 pre tip. We tipped 20% and thank goodness we had comps in our party to cover part of the bill, I only paid a little on my card. Honestly, as an asian person I was very disappointed in the food and the quality and felt the food was a disgrace to my...
Read moreI went to the Hard Rock Seminole Hotel for a 2 day get away with the family. First time visiting this hotel/casino and it was very impressive the pool was amazing and the room was spectacular. Not much of a gambler, but went down to the casino and had some fun. We were planning on eating out by a nearby Thai restaurant that had amazing reviews. On the way to the garage we passed by this restaurant and saw the menu and the atmosphere inside seemed nice and my wife said let's try here it's called the Bol within the hotel. I honestly hesitated at first and then thought let's give it a shot. Me and my family of six were greeted very attentively and we were sat down. That's when we were approached by our waitress her name is EMMA. She was very happy to see us like she knew us , but it was the first time we met. What a good first impression and made us all feel comfortable to be there. She then preceded to recommend the following appetizers Chinese egg roll, lobster wonton and chicken wings they were all amazing . She then proceeded to offer us a hibiscus margarita which my wife loved. She then also insisted we have the Sebastian's wine which was also very good. We asked her what was her favorite dishes here she talked to us about the Pad Thai and we were skeptical and also the orange chicken. Then the food came and we were blown away with the taste and flavors very comparable to other Thai/Vietnamese restaurants we have visited and the orange chicken was also a home run. She also told me the General Tso's Chicken was delicious and she was right our kids loved it as well. Honestly we were blown away by the food , but mostly by the service , kindness and professionalism from EMMA . We will definitely be visiting more often and asking for her when we arrive. Overall everyone was kind and inviting. And this is officially the longest review I have ever written just thought this place merits it. Thank you very much and don't forget if you go ask for Emma you won't be...
Read moreThis place is following COVID-19 safety protocols, from the waiters wearing masks and gloves to giving you a plastic bag so you can put your face covering while you eat. This way it doesn’t get dirty. The tables are at a safe distance from each other so you can feel safe and comfortable. Decor: Asian inspired, lots of gold and red colors. Place looks small since it’s not too wide. It is long though. Located inside the casino at the Seminole Hard Rock, there are a couple of ways to get in, either thru the casino (which is a smoking environment) or, if you choose to valet park, not using their garage, it’s right next to one of the entrances. You can look at the menu simply by scanning a QR code using your phone’s camera. We had the prawns. They were fried and lightly breaded. It was four and each one was sitting on a thick cucumber slice. On top of each prawn, there was a spicy sauce that looked like a combo of mayo and ketchup but it wasn’t. Good flavors and the cucumber helps with the spicy sauce. Rihanna, our server, recommended we each get a plate and then to share so we ordered the fried rice and the pepper steak for lunch. The fried rice had beef, chicken and shrimp and it was tasty. I should point out that they offer fried rice with no soy sauce but we did t try it. The pepper steak came with lots of red and green peppers and onions. The black pepper sauce was yummy. I was actually surprised that the steak was actually sweet. Not sure if it was peanut oil or sesame oil or too much sugar. It wasn’t bad, I was just expecting more pepper I guess. Rihanna was friendly and came back to check on us a few times. Food and service was good and we will definitely go back to try the...
