The server, Alfie - Server Assistant, Don & Manager, Nicolle provided some of the most heightened levels of personal hospitality I have ever received. It was magical how they all worked like one moving part. I wanted to surprise my partner with a full Korean / Japanese grilling experience - therefore, we requested a grilling table and the chef's feast grilling option for two. This option did not disappoint as it came with surpberbly seasoned portions of amazing cut as well as chicken. The cuts - which all melted in your mouth - paired harmoniously with our chosen starters - Shishito Peppers, Wagyu Dumplings atop a bed of Wasabi Mashed Potatoes & Kimchi Fried Rice.
If you have a palette like me - please be sure to order the Passion Fruit Bourbon Cocktail... It's delicious.
Now back to the meal and the staff... :) Alfie was tasked with grilling our meats as my partner nor myself wanted to be responsible for under or over-cooking anything. Alfie did such an amazing job and provided the history on each item along with a few few fun facts about his travels. He's definitely a great asset. Don would swoop in effortlessly to ask if we required refills on our beverages, water or fresh plates and if we had any questions he was available to answer them... The service was truly a moving work of art.
Then the dessert... I cannot begin to explain how utterly pleasing and refreshing the Berry Japanese Shaved Ice Dessert truly was. LIKE COMPLETELY GOBSMACKED at the delicate flavors marrying together...
The Lovely Operating Partner, Hai - stopped by our grilling table to educate my partner and I about this wonderful dessert new to Bae's menu and how the ice is actually flown in from Japan to create the most authentic flavor profile for this amazing dessert.
I'm telling you... You HAVE to try it! It's such a compliment to the rest of the meal.
Along with the Ube Flan... Sheesh That was also Divine!!! The simplicity and complexity your taste buds experience with each bite of the Ube Flan - Chef's Kiss.
Sidebar: I totally had a Pixar Ratatouile moment when the main character bit into the strawberry and cheese simultaneously.
Overall, my partner and I were truly satisfied with everything. If you were on the fence about trying this place - please don't be. You won't regret your choice...
Read moreI Love Bae and Bae Loves Me, and We Love @baekoreangrill at @hardrockholly because they are so #vegan friendly! We review vegan restaurants and vegan options on instagram: @the_vegan_vagabonds The staff at Bae Korean Grill always goes above and beyond to accommodate our requests and it is the perfect place to eat if you are at the casino or before a show at the Hardrock in Hollywood. At first glance there seem to be very little vegan options, but with a little creativity and a very friendly staff, any dish on the menu can be #veganized We always order the Crispy Bok Choy with garlic soy, pomegranate and crunchy garlic. It is one of the few dishes on the menu they do not need to be altered to be vegan and it is one of our favorite starters we have had together, highly recommended for vegan and non-vegans too. The next dish is also one of favorites, but it definitely requires a few alterations. The Stir-Fried Korean Udon Noodles normally prepared with american wagyu, spinach and egg, was made vegan for us by omitting the egg and substituting the wagyu for tofu, we are always so #grateful to the staff for accommodating our requests to make this delicious vegan alternative for us, and we highly recommend this flavorful noodle dish. The next dish requires a a bit more alterations, but trust me, it’s totally worth it, the Bibimbap, served with rice, assorted vegetables, gochujang sauce, egg yolk, sweet soy, and choice of beef bulgogi, chicken or shrimp was made vegan for us by using #tofu as our protein, leaving the egg yolk off the dish and using a ginger dressing instead of a fish sauce. The extra effort by the staff was very much appreciated and the dish was quite honestly a flavor explosion of traditional Korean flavors, we can’t get enough it, and if you try it, you will see why we love it so much. Now no night at the Hardrock Casino is complete without drinks, and Bae has the best cocktail menu at the casino. This evening we opted for sangria, one red, one white, both very refreshing and the prefect drinks to accompany the Korean spices. There are many other dishes you as a vegan can enjoy, just ask your server and they will help you navigate it. Good luck and enjoy, I know we always do! #Cheers #veganfoodie #veganfoodshare...
Read moreWhen you walk in ,you see this beautiful large Buddha head . The lighting in the restaurant is excellent. The restaurant aesthetic is beautiful. Then to the right you see two hostess everything is going great. Then I proceeded to ask the hostess for a table for two. She politely replies , “Would you like a grilled or regular table?.” This is my first time here, so I replied “ grilled “. Next to her was another hostess which responded to her with an attitude corrected her about the grilled table. she grilled her ,and was testy and pushy towards her about not giving me the table. I was so uncomfortable just waiting to be seated or not. So why ask ? Anyways Then this rude hostess which later That evening I found out she is the manager by the name of Kathy a tall red head. Kathy turns to me with out even explaining anything about the menu . mind you that this is my first time going to this restaurant , and it’s their second week since the grand opening. Kathy just turned to me with a rude body language and unprofessional sarcastic tone and said ,”that if she gives me a grilled table i need to get out by an hour!!!! “ Any ways ....I brushed it off and responded ,”a regular table is fine .”not knowing nothing about the regular table . I just wanted to have a good time and eat, and see what the hype was all about. I was still bothered , So since she’s the manager. I ask the waiter for the manager’s supervisor Ben. He was very apologetic. All that feeling for one bad weed to damage your whole night. But then again you walk in at this restaurant and your being presented by the enlightened-one. And Kathy the manager supposed to represent y’all and she doesn’t even have courtesy. On my way out she walked right by me and rolled her eyes at me. Wow ...She tried to intimidate me one more time.
Btw.... the grilled tables as you see in the photos were all empty the whole entire time I was there.
My waiter by the way name Katie was very attentive she almost made up for Kathy the manager that left a bad taste in my mouth. And Alejandro who kept coming by to see if we were ok Was nice. The waiters I could say...
