I'm thrilled to have dined at The Greek Joint Kitchen and Bar in Davie, a remarkable Greek restaurant that truly stands out for its fantastic Greek dishes. During my visit, there was a short wait for indoor seating, but the outdoor seating option allowed us to promptly find a table and begin our culinary adventure.
Our server, Mateo, left no stone unturned in providing us with an exceptional dining experience. Mateo's attentiveness and professionalism were truly commendable, creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere throughout our meal.
To start our culinary journey, we indulged in the Four Dip Platter, a tantalizing assortment of Tzatziki, Hummus, Melitzanosalata, and Tirokafteri dips. Each dip exuded exquisite flavors and showcased the authentic Greek culinary heritage. It was a delightful symphony of tastes that left us craving for more.
For the main course, I decided to try the seafood medley, and it exceeded my expectations in every bite. This dish was a true masterpiece, brimming with an abundance of perfectly cooked seafood that created a harmonious blend of flavors. The freshness of the seafood truly shone through in every mouthwatering bite.
Based on my extraordinary experience at The Greek Joint Kitchen and Bar, I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking an unforgettable Greek dining experience. From the warm and inviting ambience to the attentive service, accompanied by an array of delectable Greek dishes, this restaurant has all the ingredients to create a truly exceptional dining experience. I can't wait to return and explore more of their tantalizing menu. Without a doubt, it deserves...
Read moreThe space is nicely designed for a strip mall location, and the food was decent. I had intended to return and try other menu items before forming a final opinion—but unfortunately, the experience left me too frustrated.
The issue was this: during lunch hours, you’re presented with a lunch menu clearly labeled in big font. I ordered directly from that menu, only to find that the item was charged at more than double the listed price when the check arrived. The server, at first confused, noted that the menu they routinely hand out, even on weekends, is for Mon-Fri. That kind of discrepancy (outlandish if it's trickery) is not reasonable. This is not consistent with industry standards and is in fact considered bad practice for the very reason this review receives 2-stars.
What made matters worse was how it was handled. The server, who seemed new and was otherwise polite, simply said “Sorry,” and then spoke briefly to a manager—after the fact. There was no real attempt to correct the error, offer an explanation, or make things right.
While I don’t fault the server personally, the lack of oversight from management was disappointing. A properly trained team—and some basic communication at the hostess stand—could have avoided this entirely. At the very least, once the discrepancy was raised, someone should have stepped in with a more thoughtful response. Servers should be trained to engage management when an issue surfaces.
Mistakes happen, but how they’re addressed matters. In this case, the mishandling left a bad impression that outweighed the otherwise decent first visit, or consideration...
Read moreMy family of 8 had dinner last evening which was good, good service, but I ordered a Dinner size Greek Salad to Go for my dinner tonight to find out their “Greek Salad” does not include any lettuce or Greek Kalamata olives. I’m visiting from out state, I only eat Greek salads whenever I get salads, and never expected to get a dish of tons of multi-colored peppers, some cucumbers, some red onion & 2 small slices of feta all for $18 with no lettuce and no Kalamata olives, both standard in Greek salads in all other Greek restaurants!! I never checked the menu since standard Greek restaurants all have Greek salads with lettuce & olives. The picture on the Greek Joint website even names the lettuce salad pictured as “Greek Salad” website & shows both lettuce & olives in photo —false advertising!!. The server should have told me “did you know our Greek salad” doesn’t include lettuce or olives”!! I spent over $300 for our dinner there last evening. I’m furious & you ruined my Friday dinner plans with family members I’m visiting!
This is an updated review after learning what a traditional Greek salad is without lettuce. Though it was to have been our main entree Friday Eve with the lettuce we thought we’d get, We did add lettuce on Saturday to our veggies for lunch and it was superb. Food quality here is outstanding. As we travel now, no matter where we go (New England, New York State, Ohio, Kentucky, we’ll teach the Greek restaurants about a “real traditional Greek salad” without lettuce. We already told a few people in Davie area and they have already eaten there over the weekend &...
