We've eaten here many times before, but always had a better experience than tonight. Maybe it was the fact that we let Door dash deliver, after telling ourselves we'd "never do that again", maybe not, but either way, door dash adds $20 for "fees", tax, and tip, so our already expensive $60 order became $80 real quick. The door dash driver got lost, but she called for directions and we figured it out. I met her next door and she handed me an obviously wet pizza box, like the box had been sitting on a very wet counter top and the box had absorbed a LOT of water. My hand was wet where I held the box and I had to wonder, "why would the door dash driver even accept a pizza box in that condition?", But I took it inside on the off chance it was just on the outside. Initial observation was that besides being wet, the box did not have the seal on it that guarantees no one has touched your food. In fact none of the boxes of food, nor the delivery bag were sealed, something the restaurant should correct on my opinion. The pizza inside the box had absorbed so much of the liquid from the box that the crust was full of it, like picking up a wet sponge, so we decided not to risk it and tried to reach door dash. Yeah. Don't bother. After "report a problem" offered me a $5.68 refund on my $20 pizza, it only offered to "reach out by email in 2-3 days" beyond that. No way to adjust the tip, refund the "fees" or order a replacement pizza, which is what we wanted to do. So I called the store and they blamed door dash and said they couldn't do Anything about it. So I took the box back to the store and showed the manager the soggy box full of soggy pizza and he immediately apologized and made us another pizza, even refusing my offer to pay for it since I figured door dash might eventually do the right thing. Long story short, the rest of the food was delicious, and the replacement pizza was delicious (and in a dry box as it should be) so buy the food, but don't use door dash. Go in or pick it...
Read moreCame here for lunch on a Saturday around 1pm while I was in town visiting a few of my friends from Davis. There were four of us, and we split three pizzas (all the pizzas are 10”), which was a good amount. The service was pretty quick - we got our pizzas in about 10 minutes or so. The dough is excellent - stretched very thin in the middle with a nice puffy and chewy crust at the edge, exhibiting just the right amount of char. Definitely resembling a traditional Italian pizza as opposed to a typical American pizza. The sauce had a nice flavor, and there was just the right amount. The mozzarella cheese was delicious, and you could tell it was fresh, high quality cheese. I really enjoyed the combination of different meats on the quattro carni pizza, and the combination of prosciutto, creamy burrata, and arugula on the prosciutto burrata pizza was excellent. This pizza definitely reminded me of the pizza I had in Italy on my honeymoon! Will certainly come again if I’m ever...
Read moreThe pizza was decent, if a little underwhelming for the price. Everything was very inconsistent. The pizzas were all cut into 4 slices each, but some of the slices were twice as big as the others. They were out of plates and forks when we were served salad and we had to get them ourselves after the wait staff promised to get them twice. They gave us numbers to put on our tables, but also called out our number over the PA to pick up our food at the counter, only to find that most of our order was not ready, what was ready was not correct, and they were going to bring it out to us. The pasta add ons were tiny for the price.
I cannot recommend this place until service and consistency improve, and even then I wouldn't say it's the best...
