Went in because of the reviews and wanted to support local vs going to a chain restaurant. From the start we should have known to walk away. We were greeted by the hostess and were sat in the back in a booth. She asked us what we would like to drink and as we were deciding asked for 2 waters. It all goes south from here! An older man came up and placed the waters on the table and dropped the straws down stating,"here are your waters" sounding bothered. My sister in law and I looked at each other confused but decided he was just a grumpy guy. The waitress came back and asked us if we knew what we wanted to drink after looking at the extensive drink menu we decided on Miami Vice, the waitress recommended the bottomless mimosas which she noted they were known for, we declined. A few minutes later she came back to tell us they did not have any frozen drinks but that they could do the mimosas. We decided to try them since their extensive menu disappeared once the frozen drinks were removed. Mimosas were brought back and we were excited to get our drinks and start our brunch off right.... wrong! The orange juice was bitter we asked the server what type of oj they used and she stated they buy it from 7-Eleven. These were the worst mimosas i have had, as a server would not recommend at all... I stuck with water. For food I had one of the platters with eggs, bacon and French toast and my sister in law ordered the country fried chicken because they were out of the country ham. DO NOT ORDER THE COUNTRY FRIED CHICKEN! IT IS A CHICKEN TENDER WITH GRAVY NO FLAVOR! The food was COLD! They took the French toast back and "warmed" it up but it was not hot. We decided we were just going to eat and get through it because we were starving! If the food was hot it would have been great. NOW FOR THE WORST OF IT! Our server dropped the check while we were eating our food, which is normal. We ate and were just talking and relaxing because we had no where we were running to. I then notice another server looking at us then the hostess starts looking at us and I am confused like are they closing??? I then hear a server say, " I see money on the table" at that point our server comes up and I asked her if they were closing. She said no. I asked then why is everyone staring at us? What is the problem? She said,"oh we are a small mom and pop and they make us stay on top of all our tables sometimes its weird". At this point it was awkward and we decided to cut our chatter short and leave. We felt very weirded out by the situation. Although they did not have the drinks we wanted, served us cold food and watched us like we were going to run out on the check we did not ask for discounts and tipped over 20%. We will not be back! Next time I will go support a chain restaurant at least they...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. Should have realized by the appearance of the building, and be lack of cleanliness, that this was not a place we wanted to eat.
Arrived at 10:30 on a Monday morning. We went to the hostess stand and waited, and waited, and waited....
Turns out, the old man who was sitting outside the door smoking, was the host... After finishing his cigarette, he finally decided to come in, took our name, (party of 3), then told us it would be 10 to 15 minutes. He was very surly about seating us.
I should point out, that the majority of tables were empty, and there were only two other parties in the entire establishment.
Anyways, we waited 20 minutes and hadn't heard anything. So I walked back in to the host stand, and stood there and waited.
I stood there and waited another 10 minutes, the host never came back out. I did see three different waiters who came out to take care of the two tables that had people. They never acknowledged me, even though they made eye contact.
So after a little over 30 minutes, we left and went someplace that actually does want customers.
Definitely will not make a mistake to ever coming back to Adam's...
