Spanky’s 33 Tavern — Restaurant in Daytona Beach

This is a little bar on the side street. I stopped in for lunch midday. It's your typical hole in the wall bar. Lots of things plastered everywhere and kind of older feeling and run down. That being said I know a lot of people like this environment. It's just not for me. However that doesn't lose any points for the review. Just an observation.

I didn't order any drinks but did try the food. The menu is extremely small and limited. However about half the things on the menu were out or unavailable. Which normally id understand and be ok with. However when you only have 8 or so items, being out of half of them is kind of an issue to me. The food otherwise was average that I'd expect from a place like this.

I believe I spoke briefly with the owner or manager. He was a really cool person and seemed nice. The waitress/bartender was however, less so. She was nice enough but didn't seem great at her job unfortunately. Or just genuinely didn't care. I was with a party of 4. She took 2 of our orders but then totally forgot to even take our 2 orders. With a time difference so large that half our party received their order before we had ordered bc we only saw her to ask to order when she brought them their food. So they were finished by time ours arrived. When our food did arrive, she got confused by the orders and literally kind of threw them infront of us and I quote said "figure it out" and walked away. Which we realized took a little more work bc the orders were messed up.

Overall. Bar wise, I can't comment. Food wise, it was ok. The pricing was really fair to me. The service was terrible tho. I really hope she was having a bad day or something similar. I wouldn't go again personally. However you (hopefully) may have a...

Don't let the outside appearance fool you, it is really cozy inside. The staff was friendly and attentive, including the owner who seemed to be pretty easy going. The Tommy Mac Band was playing and they rock!! They play a little bit of everything and they sound great. The drummer Shawn Beamer is also the drummer for The Molley Hatchet band. All members of the band mingled with the patrons, including Shawn and it was a real treat. Oh! And the Buffalo wings and fries were quite tastey! I will definitely be back...

This is not the prettiest place but the live music was awesome! They would have gotten an 4 stars but they stole a dollar from me. I bought three rounds of drinks..4 beers @ $15, yeah very high for beer but I said what the heck. My credit card statement was charged $15, $15, $16 so they stole a dollar right??
