From the last hurricane had done some damage to the walk way going to the beach and I noticed some parking lot had been washed out and destroyed some parking at other locations but regardless of the damage there were still people out in the Atlantic ocean. The water to me was cold but not as cold as I expected after having some record breaking low temperature down in the 30's but was a beautiful day with temperature in the 80's in January. Any day at the beach is a good day for your mind, body, and spirits. Along with helping with cureing some health issues, weather mental or physical therapy the salt water in the ocean is definitely a plus when it comes to your health. I personally think the water is warmer in the Gulf of Mexico on the Pacific coast. Will be a permanent resident in Florida soon so we can enjoy the beaches more often than just in vacation or a short weekend trip. Can't afford to live directly on the beach but within an hour away from the beach. Possibly moving to Silver Springs Florida which is close to Daytona Beach and to Orlando to go to Disney and other Theme Parks unless I can find somewhere near Panama City Beach. Bahamas sounds great because once you purchase the property you NEVER have to pay taxes on property and you will own until you sell or leave to family members upon your death. Here in the United States of America you will NEVER TRUELY OWN ANYTHING IF YOU DON'T PAY TAXES THE GOVERNMENT WILL TAKE FROM YOU WHERE IN THE BAHAMAS YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY PROPERTY TAXES AND WILL ALWAYS BE YOURS TO ENJOY. ANY BEACH LIFE IS...
Read moreThis place is only good for the free parking to get to the beach. They haven't gotten to fixing it yet from the hurricane damage so you can't play in the splash park right now, the bathrooms are not very clean at all and you can't use the pavilions or grills due to the homeless people that NEVER LEAVE. They literally LIVE there. I've been there many, many times in the past month, for the free parking and in the past couple years, it's always the same. You have to walk past the pavilions with all the homeless people which is very uncomfortable, just to get to the beach. I understand they have no where to go and it's very sad so why can't Daytona build them a nice place to stay? There are many empty lots that can be bought up by organizations and built up with nice shelters for them to sit, sleep, grill etc... Where they can feel...
Read moreWe visited sun splash park on our recent trip to Daytona Beach with our 4 kids. Sun Splash park was our plan for the morning of our final day and it was a disappointment all around. Everything is dated and worn, the playground mats are cracked in multiple places and the splash pad isn't functional right now. The white concrete picnic benches are in great shape and gave us a nice place to drink coffee while the kids played. I understand that there is a lot of hurricane damage here that is yet to be repaired, which is why I gave it three stars instead of two. I imagine this park was very nice when it opened and with some refreshment of the fixtures it...
