My father and I stopped in last night 11/21/2018 for a pizza to go. Being accustomed to New York pizzas and being Sicilian ourselves we thought we should check out some hole in the wall spots in town because that's usually where we've found the best restaurants.
Louie's Pizza House is NOT one of the greats. The pizza (if you want to call it that) was unseasoned tomato paste topped with the cheapest cheese you can buy and the dough looked like it was pre-made & frozen and it smelled weird too, like sour buttered popcorn. We took a bite each and threw it in the garbage when we got home. For the money we spent at louie's we would have been happier with two little ceasers pizzas.
The people working weren't very nice either and they made my father and I both feel uncomfortable because they all kept staring at us like there was a problem or something. I didn't have a problem with the woman at the counter myself but my father had an issue when he tipped her and asked for cheese and other seasoning for the pizza. I don't know what the attitude change was about but service aside the food was more than enough reason to avoid louie's pizza.
Anyone know where to get a real New York pie around Daytona or...
Read moreA group of approximately 30 of us, all members of the Port Orange YMCA, gathered at Louie's today for lunch. We were seated in their private party room which can accommodate up to 50 people comfortably. Most of us took advantage of the all you can eat Greek salad and pizza special, while a few decided to order off of the menu. Our waiter Miles, was very attentive to the needs of the group, making sure beverages were replenished when necessary. The Greek salad was yummy with plenty of fresh, abundant ingredients like black olives, onions, green peppers, and feta cheese. We were also served a variety of different types of pizza, from plain cheese, to pepperoni, meat lovers, and vegetarian. The pizza was served hot from the oven and enjoyed by all. We were provided with take home boxes for the left overs. John, the catering manager, does private parties for a very reasonable price. Many in our group were so impressed with the food and service and have already made plans to return. I highly recommend Louie's...
Read moreHad that Mom and Pop authentic look and it did not disappoint. There were two of us we asked a bunch of questions and ordered two homemade lasagna for lunch. We inquired if there was any pasta that came on the side to complete the meal and she assured us that was (a) it be unnecessary and superfluous (b) we would need a doggy bag to carry any side pasta we ordered because the serving size of said lasagna would sell us up AND (c) She was correct!! (d) After finishing the homemade lasagna, we both agreed ... From Providence Rhode Island south, throughout the i-95 corridor we had paid up to four and a half times the price yet had never been served better homemade lasagna. It might not have been a fine china, fancy lace tablecloth, sterling silver utensil BUT it was a...
