Durresi Restaurant Coney Island — Restaurant in Redford Township

This coney has been in place for a long time. Good food is always remembered. I 1st encountered this gem when I worked for the dealership up the street. Fast forward 22 years and its still there . I always remembered how good the chili was and the breakfast was even better. I found out it changed ownership 3 years ago and was taken over by a guy and his sons Ayden and Sam. Both boys under 21 , they really knew how to run the place. I ordered a burger, chili cheese fries, and moz Stix. The burger was cooked to perfection, it really looked like when they make stuff to take pictures for a menu or something. The fries has a generous amount of chilli, and yes it still was the same tasting stuff from years ago. The cheese sticks were tasty as well. What stood out was the friendliness of the two boys , proud to be helping dad out and trying to uphold the business and reputation of the place. They met any request I had with speed and excellence. You can tell the pride they have in doing what they do. It's good to see family come together like that, you can tell they have a mutual respect for each other. I think anyone would appreciate how this place is ran and how the food is made. They definitely put all the effort into it. I recommend trying this place, if you haven't you won't be...

We arrived and ordered coffee and hot chocolate. They came back and said that they were out of hot chocolate. Then brought out the cut of coffee in a LIP STICK STAINED CUP. I told the waitress she apologized and took it. Returned with a Styrofoam cup. She said that there were not any clean cups😒. Ok, ordered our food (Omelet w/spinach, tomatoes, onions and cheese) after 15mins, she returns and says they're out of spinach. So I order a veggie omelet. Well 23mins later, she returns with the food. Open the napkins to get the silverware and it was dirty, both sets. I called the waitress back to inform her of that. She apologized and said let me get you some more. Returns with the freshly washed silverware and stated "I just washed this myself. I keep telling the dishwasher that things aren't clean but they keep returning it like this". I asked her was this under new management or ownership. Because I've been here plenty of time and NEVER had this many problems. She replied, no same owner. Finally able to eat and of course my appetite is gone. Waited for my daughter to finish her food and went to pay. Only to READ, EVERY CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD would be charged an additional 3%...this place is a nightmare to say the least🙄😐🤨 After going there for 7 years, I WILL NOT BE...

Really nice little coney spot. No frills and to the point with good food, good portions, and prompt friendly service. I go for the Hungry Man Breakfast which is delicious and their refreshing freshly ground coffee most times but other items are also good, especially the Chicken Parm. Most times the owner himself is in the kitchen working hard and throwing down - that man puts a lot of heart into his food. It always warms my heart and makes me happy when he occasionally steps out of the kitchen and greets patrons in the dining area with his big, warm smile. Theres been a few different waitresses over the years but most are long term mainstays and all handle the front of the house very well - most times being one person handling take outs, phones, and waitressing duties all at once while staying pleasant and attentive to your needs. The prices are also more than fair. I visit even after I have moved out of the area when im out that way. All in all a good spot for a bite...
