I'm giving Taziki's a 5 star review because at the end of the day, my meal was delicious and if I worked closer, I'd probably eat takeout from here often. I would not want to dissuade anyone from ordering takeout here because it was tasty, healthy, and came from a visibly clean kitchen. However I do think it merits bringing the attention of the owner to some inconsistencies in the dine-in experience that I think would be relatively straightforward to iron out. For one thing, and this may be beyond the reach of an individual franchise owner, but there is no gyro meat in the house, despite there being a gyro section on the menu. I opted for lamb and it was great, but when someone is expecting (and hankering for) shaved gyro meat, I think it's a little unfortunate and frustrating to encounter a gyro shop menu that falls short in this unusual way. Another strange facet of ordering was that there was only one menu on a smallish sign that was right next to the register, facing inwards so you have to be at the register ordering to see it - this means you have no time to peruse the menu, and no QR code menus available. The other person ordering at the same time seemed to know their order, so I let them go ahead. The person taking the order was really really really uncomfortable with the idea of ordering a dip with no pita or veggies (wanted to add it to salad, and it was great!). The food runner was mixed up about table/order numbers and tried to deliver the wrong food - honest mistake, of course. Next, the tables and floors are so, so sticky. My dining companion was even more irked than I was about the stickiness, and spent a lot of time trying to scrub the tabletop with a wet napkin. It seems this stickiness is very much baked in. There was also a dusty film on the sticky partitions between booths. The open kitchen does seem to be clean, however - again, I'm in no way disparaging the food. Finally, there is no music of any kind playing in the dining room, which takes a few minutes to realize, but thereafter feels very odd and awkward. I would like to put some of these dining area oddities up to a transition to mostly takeout since covid, but I ate lunch around 2pm and there were 2 or 3 other tables seated, so I assume regular lunch time is at something approaching normal capacity. I was looking forward to a salad with shaved gyro in a different part of town than I usually find myself, so it's unlikely I will be back any time soon. I can tell that takeout from people who work nearby probably makes up the majority of the business here, but I do think a little bit of time and energy applied to the upkeep of the establishment and the service flow would go a long way towards enticing people like me who have occasional errands in the...
Read moreI have come to Taziki's at Toco Hills almost every other week for the last year or so--pandemic or not--but I always forget to write a review. Take out or eat-in, their food is good. Otherwise I wouldn't be coming back so often. The last time was on 11/6/2022. Dine in this time. I came in rather late, around 7:45 p.m. or so. Put in my order, the beef feast, as usual. Took a seat. Waited. Waited. Waited. After 20 minutes, I walked up to the counter. "Did you forget about me?" The person who had taken my order shrugged her shoulders, pointed at the woman at the grill, who was busy and didn't know she was being pointed at. Went back to my seat. Waited another ten minutes. Finally got served after 30 minutes of waiting. The food was still good, very good, in fact. In the meantime, a father and son pair had sat across the aisle from me, and the dad asked me how long I had waited to get my food. I told him 30 minutes and advised him to go to the counter to remind them that he and his son still existed and were waiting for their food to be served. No question, the food is good, and I will be coming back. The team behind the counter was different from the faces familiar to me. Jose was not there. Between the time I placed my order and the time I got my food, I observed that many, many to-go customers came to pick up their orders, presumably placed online. It seems like the kitchen gave priority to online orders or to-go orders, anyway. Not sure about this. It just seemed that way. But 30 minutes to wait for a meal is...
Read moreI wasn’t able to try the food I ordered which was falafel. I drove 30 mins cause the website and menu says BAKED falafel. The falafel was not baked it was put on the grill right next to the chicken liquid(see attached photo). Me and the couple in front of me noticed all other customers getting served food after us after asking questions we send the miss handling of vegan food. Ya could have gotten a mini oven or air fryer to stop cross contamination or food poisoning. Real vegans don’t like meat liquid cooked with their food and being tricked to eat and pay high prices off your meat grill. Not vegan friendly if you are a real vegan. Oh yeah they turned (made them feel uncomfortable) this big crowd away saying they have a 30min wait time. Before I left the little bit of people from the group that stayed was halfway through their meal. Zoom in on pictures please. Stay safe food poison is real. The cashier had good energy and they lied on their website. Management lol no accountability...
