Kelly’s Roast Beef — Restaurant in Dedham

We were wicked excited that Kelly’s finally opened after many long months of passing by construction.

The food taste as what I remember the Kelly in revere minus the hungry seagulls and sand. I thought there was definitely some consistency in the Kelly’s brand.

We went to the drive-through and ordered only two things. The drive-through had a long line and I could see why people were not willing to wait there. Obviously depending on the order depends on how long you wait in the drive-through.

Once we ordered the whole belly clams and lobster roll. When we finish paying there is only one customer waiting for their order because it must’ve been a complex or massive order because there were 3 cars that had already received their order and left. The Kelly employees do make you standby with the car near the side door for orders that may take a little bit longer to prepare.

When we finish paying for our transaction, our order only took two minutes to be delivered to our car in the drive-through We were expecting longer wait times after submitting our order, but we did get our food in a timely manner.

I think that once they open their doors to have eat-in, that comments of soggy fries and food will go away. I think the community needs to be a little patient with the shortages of workers.

1st time here In Dedham at Kelly's Roast Beef. I've had them before and it was nothing special to me that came out of that experience. The Kelly's in Lynn, , Ma I've ate there and I found out that they are in fact known for their very rare but buttery roast beef sandwiches with a special sauce. My friend recommended it so I went. I did buy a lge. Rb with special sauce. When I finally sat down and finally got a chance to try it. Let see that I was pleasantly surprised at how well this sandwiche worked for me with the perfect blend of the sauce it made for a very good sandwich. But the one in Dedham,Ma I went in and ordered a sea scalloped plate with a side of coleslaw and a coffee smoothie for the wife. Total came to a little over $45 which got my eyes going. Anyway it wasn't much of a wait time for the food. We got home and my family got into there scallop plate. In the end with no complaints about the food but if anything the price is what they questioned. I don't care to much for the price if it can deliver the goods then that justifies any price. We arrived at the restaurant at 6:00 PM and were immediately met with a poor experience. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries, while my wife ordered a roast beef sandwich. The cashier was incredibly unhelpful and rude. She answered our questions curtly, sighed heavily, and seemed generally miserable to be working.

To make matters worse, we witnessed the staff take our fries from a plate that had been sitting on the counter for some time. Unsurprisingly, the fries were cold and soggy when we received our food. When I asked for ketchup, they only provided small, individual packets, even though larger containers were clearly available. This felt like a deliberate attempt to avoid extra cleanup work as the restaurant was nearing closing time.

The poor service seemed to be a common theme among other diners. We overheard several customers expressing frustration with the staff's unhelpful and dismissive attitude.

Overall, our dining experience was extremely disappointing. The food was subpar, the service was abysmal, and the atmosphere was unwelcoming. I would strongly advise against dining at this...
