I'm tall and slender. Most suits are either too big or too short. I was in the market for a new suit and decided to try Indochino. I previewed their suits online, made an appointment, and went in. Manny took all my measurements and fitted me with a stock suit, walking me through the options that Indochino offered. His knowledge, along with Angela's, was top-notch. They provided a fair assessment of what's in style, what's classic, and what works for your body type. They also explained which materials are suitable for different weather conditions.
They reviewed all my choices, and there were many. Do you want jacket pockets? Should they be straight or slanted? Do you prefer two or three buttons? Would you like a design in your liner? What kind of buttons do you want? For the pants, do I want pleats or not? What about waistbands and hemming? They have a wide range of materials in-store and plenty of colors.
I purchased two suits: the Hayle Sharkskin Light Gray and the Hemsworth Prince of Wales Black Suits, as well as a Helston Anti-Wrinkle suit (which is also custom-made).
This cost me about $900. Yes, you can find suits for cheaper in this fast fashion economy, but if you want a form-fitting, custom-made suit the traditional wayâthrough a tailorâit typically runs four to six thousand dollars for one suit.
Best of all, I received the suits in under a month and am very pleased with the materials and the stitching. They offer tailoring in-store; I don't want to cut into the pockets. Once finished, I can't wait to wear these out in public. And if I want more suits or shirts, they have my measurements.
I would recommend Indochino to my friends. If you're in the market for a new suit and want it to fit your body, book an appointment...
Read moreMy experience getting measured went well. However, after receiving my suit I needed to have my jacket sleeves shortened, so I opted to do Indochinoâs âfinal lookâ and get a final adjustment. When I went to do my Final Look, the worker was very off-putting about it, making me feel as if a Final Look was unusual or a burden. They tailored the sleeves and called me to tell me it was ready for pick up. I picked up my jacket but once I got home I noticed the buttons on both sleeves were not sewn back on. I wondered why they called me saying the jacket was ready when clearly it wasnât. I called them about the buttons and they said they could fix it whenever. When I came back to the store to get the buttons fixed, of course they werenât able to do so and I had to wait a few more days until the tailor showed up - so I had to come back AGAIN. Why would the employee say to come in whenever? This time around, they didnât even let me know it was ready. I waited a week waiting for some form of notification like an email or phone call until I called them to find it was ready - like were you going to tell me? For how much money youâre paying for their suits, the customer service, quality of craftsmanship, and attention to detail need to be better. This store also seems disorganized because every time I came to pick up my suit they took such a long time to find it in the back. Given my experience, I would not...
Read moreHorrible experience, will not be using Indochino again after several years of being a loyal customer.
Future father in lawâs suit for the wedding was measured wrong twice and had to be remade twice. âTailorsâ could not get it right. Huge communication errors internally and with the international team in China (where the suit is made).
For the final alteration for the second suit attempt, customer rep handed the suit jacket to my future father in law and walked away. Didnât help him at all. My future father in law felt uncomfortable and left. The manager doesnât care here and neither do their âtailorsâ. The mangerâs (Andrew) response to this was âsorry about thatâ.
Last note, when I picked out my suit color they said they had plenty of fabric. They did not and there was confusion with my groomsmen. Groomsmen had a different suit name (color name) because they ran out of fabric for my suit name and color. Ended up being fine, they just forgot to update everyone that the new suit name was the same color as my original suit but caused a unnecessary headache.
Long story short, they canât measure here and they canât communicate. No refunds in the fine print, even if they mess up three times and if the suit is unwearable...
