Read moreWe went to the Cove a couple of nights ago for dinner at about 6:30. The restaurant was not overly busy but had a good crowd. We were seated right away and waited about 10 to 15 minutes before our server finally came over. She took our drink orders and returned with the drinks in a reasonable amount of time. Then, she took the appetizer and dinner orders. A few minutes later, she returned to the table and asked me what I had ordered. I had ordered the fish and chips, which was the same as what my brother had ordered. But she would have known this if she had written the orders down. The appetizers came out, and they were okay. The dinners seemed to take quite a long time to arrive. While we were beginning to eat a smaller kid walked past our table and near the hostess stand and threw up in the corner. Well within view of our table and the host staff. The staff walked past this numerous times and looked at it with a look of disgust on their faces and made no attempt to have it cleaned up until my sister in law told the waitress to pack up her meal she could not eat it after sitting there seeing the mess beside her. The staff then finally got into action and cleaned the area. No apologies, nothing. (Update 01/20/24) after my review I was contacted by The Cove corporate office, and a conversation took place and they offered their apologies for the incident the night of our visit and offered a gift certificate as a token of their apologies. They asked me to come back and give them another try and to let them try and make it up. I accepted their offer and went back for lunch one afternoon. I presented the gift certificate to the waitress upon being seated as it said to do on it. The waitress seemed confused and said she would have to wait and give it to the manager when the bill was brought for approval. So the manager never came to the table, nor did he realize we had been there previously and had an issue. But we ordered and had a nice lunch with no other issues. The food was fine and the service was good. The gift certificate was deducted from our bill with no problem. Still no visit from the manager. All was good. We will come back if we are...
Read moreWebsite menu not updated since 2014. Had to ask for lemon twice for water. Plastic cup for $13 margarita at lunch time. Table salt for margarita rim. I mean REALLY!!?? Rotten lime in margarita. Dirty silverware rollup. No salt shaker on table. Water spots on silver not buffed! Food runner brought Salad without the goat cheese I asked to substitute for feta that came with it. Didn’t notice right away. 1 minute later server checked on me and came back with cheese 4 minutes after salad was initially brought! She checked back 1 minute later to make sure I had everything I needed. The lettuce was a bit soggy by this time maybe they tossed it in dressing in kitchen a little too early along with having to wait for the cheese . Pineapple dressing mildly sweet but very tasteless otherwise. Brussel sprouts would have been way better sautéed with a caramelization. Would have been a way better addition. Or even grilled! They were very water bloated and just blah! Didn’t eat them. Fish was seasoned great but very water bloated as well. As you bite in it’s just mushy. 6 minutes after pushing plate to edge of table server brings check and doesn’t offer another drink or dessert just assumes I am finished. Key lime pie barely tasted like key lime! Super sweet delicious consistency BUT really no key like taste one so ever! Bathrooms had toilet paper all over the floor and water splashed all over the sinks. Overall food quality is terrible ESPECIALLY for the price! I’m assuming they’re running on the bar scene!! If that’s the case then get some bar food and more sandwiches!! Price point doesn’t match! For like $2 more bucks per dish you can dine at JB’s and have real quality food and a real...
