Thai-Sushi Express — Restaurant in Deerfield Beach

My husband and I came here for the first time today to experience their food. Unfortunately we had a horrible experience, we sat in the corner where the tables are small and the space tight, our plans were to order an appetizer, sushi and an entree, we only got through the appetizer. As we were ordering my husband put his menu under the plate due to the space being small, the waitress came over and SCOLDED my husband for putting his menu under the plate because he could get the menu dirty!! We just looked at each other, didn’t say a word. We decided we would eat and pay for our food and leave. We got our bill, paid and left.

The waitress walked out and gave us the middle finger for not tipping. We tip very well, usually above what’s expected for GOOD, QUALITY SERVICE! My husband went back into the restaurant to address the lack of respect, professionalism, rudeness and the manager coddled her employee and agreed with her actions.

My husband and I both work in the service industry, we love to receive tips, which is why we value giving it so much. We believe that what you put out comes back! But tips are earned, they ARE NOT and obligation for rude, unprofessional people.

Don’t waste your time coming here!! If we could put 0 stars we would, because it’s ridiculous and unacceptable the way the employee behaved!

I went on a recommendation and was so excited to try their sushi! Unfortunately I had a bizarre negative experience that ensured I will not be returning. Got there at 9pm and put in an order for sake and gyoza while I decided on a roll. When the server brought out the gyoza, she notified me that their kitchen closed at 9:30. It was 9:12. I really wish she had let me know before I started ordering. She then came back at 9:16 and told me they were actually closing the sushi bar now since no one was ordering. Minutes later, someone else, possibly the owner, came to my table and asked if I wasn’t going to order something more, which was confusing given what my server had just told me. I relayed that to him, and he walked away. Next thing I know the server came back with a very confrontational attitude and asked why I was talking to her boss saying things that weren’t true. I couldn’t believe it. I let her know that what I shared with the him was factually accurate and I repeated what she had told me. She rolled her eyes and walked away. I have never been so insulted as I was yesterday at this restaurant. The waitress was extremely rude, she never took our drink orders the sushi maker behind the bar did.

Once the appetizers were brought we decided not to continue our dinner due to poor service and go elsewhere.

I’m good tipper, but TIPS ARE EARNED with good quality service and because this extremely rude waitress I decided NOT TO TIP . I believe in karma and when we do good good things comeback to us, which is why I value tipping highly when it’s deserved.

I normally let things go, it’s time consuming dwelling on negative energy, but When I was leaving the restaurant parking lot , she came outside and gave me her MIDDLE FINGER, so I decided to go inside and speak to the manager.

The manager justified the employees behavior because I didn’t tip , CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT? The bill was $20, she was nasty, rude, absurd for what? $2, $5, $10?

There’s a bunch of other incredible places with amazing customer service to earn at least $20 tip in a small $40/$50 bill.

NEVER AGAIN will I go or recommend this place to anyone.
