Let's do this. My wife and I were trying something new around del city when we found this place, For starters, we are breakfast people and love us some great food, but this is the exception. As we were walking in, we were received nice, but the amount of disrespect I felt was crazy a HUGE red flag, but we still decided to continue and walk behind our waitress leading us to an empty room in the end of the hall, hey I know what yall going to say: "come on man they are crowded and don't have room in other areas of the restaurant". That's not the case. As we were walking, we saw empty tables left to right. It feels disgusting and awkward to be lead to an empty room. while patrons were enjoying their food. We just wanted to leave the place, but I wanted to give it another shot. Our appetite was far gone due to the situation we were put in. To give it more perspective, we felt like we were put there so other people wouldn't see us. Race? Maybe? I don't really care at this point.
Service: Our waitress was really attentive and tried to make us comfortable, at least even to the damage to our integrity being affected, she's a down to earth person, and I wish her the best.
Let's go to the food review. Break fast special: Pancakes were fluffy and delicious, the egg was watery with lots of oil, my wife turned the table to the side, and the amount of oil to cook 1 egg was almost a table spoon, it didn't even looked like scramble egg more like a blob of white matter, the sausage looked undercooked it didn't had that characteristic dark brown color with burned spots around it this was gray like it was boiled, the bacon was good and crispy, The atmosphere in this place is depressing and sad, to be honest, and I wish I had a better experience.
Like I said before, my son was the only one who ate because we lost our appetite, and we wanted to give it another shot. Anyway, I hope someone else reads this review, and if they get the same treatment, it would be because they have a pattern with people like being selective as we were walking out we saw people seated no diversity whatsoever and the waitress that saw us walking didn't even had a expression like come on, go to another breakfast place and they'll treat you great as soon as you walk in they great you with a smile not like us who walked in and where sent over...
Read moreFirst time to dine there. Older style country cookin' style restaurant/diner that is popular with the locals of Del City, that has been around for awhile. Staff was friendly, courteous and professional, no complaints regarding customer service at all. I ordered the turkey croissant sandwich that comes w/ a pickle spear and choice of a side, not just the usual selection of two items that is standard in most of today's restaurants like fries or tots, but also onion rings, cup of soup or side salad are also available as your side item, this is what got them four stars versus three. I only had one issue with my meal and that was with the sandwich itself, when I received my meal the bottom portion of the sandwich was completely soggy as if it had placed upon a wet plate and left to soak up the excess water. It was completely inedible with that soggy slice, so I took it off and ate it as an open faced sandwich, then it was a decent sandwich. I ordered the beer battered onion rings as my side, they were crunchy, hot and delicious. The portion size is very generous for the pricepoint so I doubt anyone that isn't an overeater would be disappointed. I probably should have complained and sent it back, but I also have a fear of someone's extra DNA being served back to me, and it's not an extreme expectation to have food I ordered served and prepared correctly the first time. Let me be clear, the staff did not strike me as the kind of folks to do that type of thing (see comment about them in first paragraph), it's an irrational fear of mine. So I am giving the restaurant 4 stars as a first visit, and reserve the right to revisit this review once I have been to this restaurant a few more times and sampled both the fare and service a little bit more. So, that's all I have to say about it for now, only...
Read moreFebruary 14, 2023 my best friend, my adopted mom, dad and myself all ate here. My mom and sad are usual patrons here. I've been before and actually had good food. But this day changed it all. I ordered the eggs Benedict, potatoes and a side of French toast. Right away the ham tasted chemical taste, most of the poached egg wasn't even there it was mostly the yolk, and the sauce was already oily and separating. The French toast was covered in the egg and crusty egg around the edges. I only took a fewbites, i asked ny friend if she could taste the ham and she apit it out and was disgusted. My mom too. The French toast tasted ok and I just cut off the edges. The server was really sweet when I told her, she did apologize which was very kind and removed the eggs Benedict off my check. About an hour after we ate I started to feel queasy and very sick to my stomach. I couldn't eat all day and was sick still for another day and a half. My friend also felt ill as well. We did not eat anything else that morning or the next few days. Plus the reek of bleach and cigarettes hits you in the face when you walk in. My chair was broken and sinking. The menu had food residue in it. Like whoever wiped it to sanitize it used adirty cloth and smeared it on the pages. Don't order the eggs Benedict or French toast. I will never eat here again. And the bathroom was old, nasty and mop handle holding...
